Congrats on safe landing, I landed on 12th and experience was exactly same as u mentioned. In my first week, got SIN Number, Bank A/c (TD Canada), Mobile SIM (Chatr) and registered with few Employment agencies for job hunt. Concerning Driving license, I've a confusion:

If I'm carrying an International Driving License from pakistan which is less than 12 months old, what benefits do I get for this?.
Do I still have to wait for those 12 Months periods in getting G1 & G2 Licenses?

Then can spouse and children will get citizenship after completing there 3 years duration, before principal applicant or citizenship can only be granted with principal applicant? Its important please respond.

Dear In goods to carry list I filled two B4 forms and made two sets of list attached to each B4. I did not fill any B4A form because its not needed. And I have no goods to follow so i did not have any goods to follow list.

If you will have goods to follow list then you will have four B4 forms, two for Goods to carry and two for goods to follow. Two set of B4 forms will be retained by CbSA and two will be returned to you stamped on each page.

I made B4 lists by hand. I did not type it. To know how to fill B4 forms and make lists follow this qorax thread. If you still have questions, ask me,

In my lists, I made six categories

1) Clothing and personal effects
2) Electronics
3) Kitchen utensils
4) Staitonary
5) toiletries
6) CDs and DVDS

Please note you can list 8 categories in B4 form so don't make more than 8 categories. You will then have to list all items in each category

like in Clothing and personal effects category, write

sr no Item description quantity value (CAD) suit case no (bag in which goods are)

1) Trousers 10 60 2

2) Jackets 4 60 2

Dear International driving license is nothing to do with your normal Ontario driving license. If you are not having any previous driving experience, not carrying any normal driving license from Pakistan then you will have to wait for 12 months before qualifying for G2 licesne then another 8-12 months to get full G license.

If you want to use your international driving license here in Ontario, you can only drive for 3 months.

After landing as a PR, there is no difference between the PR of the principal applicant and the PR of the rest of the family.

The spouse of the primary applicant may stay in Canada with the kids and apply for citizenship after 3 years and it is nothing to do if Principal applicant stays in Canada or not.

Assalam u Alikum Cock n bull brother.

I have one good & another a bit bad news.

Good news is just received email of PPR-1. AlhamdulAllah

Bad news is that I applied for renewal of my passport in Feb (urgent) but till date I've not been issued the same. The lame excuse is unavailability of passport stationary for printing & they gave me tentative time of 15th april (but not confident enough).

So, where I'm intending your help is my current passport is expiring 23th of Oct 2013, whereas, my meds are expiring on 4th Feb 2014.

So, If I want to land before Oct 2013, can I send photocopy of current passport to visa office & later for visa stamping as well?

Is my current passport which will have visa stamped remained valid for travel to Canada even I gets renewed passport as well later?

Is rule of 6 months validity of passport (atleast) for visa validity applies to our PR visas as well?
