Dear forum members,

I have just created a thread titled
Compilation of Landing Experiences

This is for the purpose of setting our expectation right on what we can expect in our initial days in Canada.
This wealth of information is scattered throughout the forum and I thought it would be useful if I could post them in one place.
Please note that this is work in progress. (I guess it will always be)

Here is the link:

This link is now updated on my blog:

Hi Friends,

I am booking my excess luggage as Cargo in the same flight.... If anybody has already taken cargo, please advice as in how easy or difficult is it to get cargo cleared in Toronto and in short what is the procedure?

I am travelling by BA on 17th April from India to Toronto.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi

I have created the following website to help New and Existing Canada Immigrants to find all the information they need in a single location. I am still working on to update this site. Please do let me know what information I can add to this site to make it more useful.

Please feel free to check it

Thanks

Thanks for doing such a wonderful work.

hi chandra
great work with the thread!! A lot of valuable info is available here for new immigrants.
Can u pls add about short term accomodations too particularly the ones which are furnished and with a kitchen, it will be very useful for ppl like me moving in with family and small kid, so that we can cook at home and dont have to spend too much on eating out.

BTW iam relocating to Toronto in January with my family, and have shortlisted the Ports Hotel near Port credit for the first month till I find a house. Any inputs about this place will be highly appreciated.
Also If there are any other reasonable furnished short term stays pls let us know.
Thanks again

Gopi
