hello Everyone,

We r from India, we are couple and we have pr and going to land in august' we r very much confuse abt selecting city of landing. we want suggestion abt city to land, favourable weather, easy to get job.

I m lecturer in college and my husband is working in shopping mall as a warehouse incharge. I know in beginning we have to strugle a lot to survive and have to be prepared for any type of job for which we r already ready from beginning.

we want ur guidance and necessary information from u as much as u can provide to us.
my first and most confusion is abt selecting the province and city to settle down there easily where we both can get job easily to survive in begining and for a handsome earning chances in future too.

what is average monthly expenditure for a couple and what are minimum wages to set the expenses.
we will be very much trhankful if we get required information.

Hello EVERYONE,

we are couple and we have PR so according to rule i have to show @14,000$ as proof of Funds when i land to Canada Airport, I have question regarding filling up the forms as per rule if i bring more than 10,000$ i have to inform. I just want to know if i bring DD of my and my wife different i.e 5000$ + $5000. Then i have to fill up the form?

If single person brings more than 10,000$ he have to fill up or even a couple have more than 10,000$ also have to fill up the form.

If i bring Travel Cheque how many days it will take to encash when i open account in Canada?

which will be best way to bring money by Travel Cheque, Demand Draft or other else?

No harm Filling the form and you just have to inform the immigiration at Airport that you have this much of money, they will charge you anything even you bring 50,000 or more, as first time lander.

You must talk with your airline if you want to postpone your trip. Only your airline can tell you if you can change your ticket and how much it will cost.

Dear forum members,

I have just created a thread titled
Compilation of Landing Experiences

This is for the purpose of setting our expectation right on what we can expect in our initial days in Canada.
This wealth of information is scattered throughout the forum and I thought it would be useful if I could post them in one place.
Please note that this is work in progress. (I guess it will always be)

Here is the link:
