LILMAYA!!! I believe the MP's have been sworn in... I think I saw it on the news last week... CALLL!

The interview was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. I reached the embassy at 7:45 and there was a short line up. After i went inside I went to the reception office to find how if i should the join the line. The guy at the window said I should just sit and wait for my name to be called. I was so nervous the night before and also on my way to the embassy and it was even worse when I get there. It seems as have I had the runnings. Anyway they called my name and said I should go to window #4. When I went inside the IO must have realized that I was nervous, so she said that if I needed time to relax and that's ok. I wore heels but i took it off because I had to stand and my legs were shaking.
These are some of the questions that she asked me:

(1) Tell me about your relationship
(2) when and how did you met
(3) what did you and spouse do when you were dating
(4) what`s your spouse occupation and salary
(5) Where does your daughter lives and with whom
(6) Do you work
(7) why it took you so long to apply for PR. (I met spouse in 2004. I told her that I was waiting for my spouse divorce to come through and also for my daughter to do her medical and police record)

Then she said I can see that the marriage is genuine so I am going to approve you and that I should do over medical for my daughter and myself and also police record for myself.

I didnt waste time. The next day I went to get the police record. I paid for the express service and was told to return on June 1. I also got an appointment for next week to do my medical. I sent the redo medical document to my daughter in England which she should receive within 3 days. I told her to schedule the appointment before she receive the document so as soon as she it gets it she can go do the medical.

I hope this help those who will be schedule for an interview.

iambless: Sounds a lot less painful than i would have imagined it to be. I see a table... a bare lightbulb hanging from the wall above the table.... 2 people in the room playing good cop bad cop.... I know you must have been so nervous going into it so i'm so happy that it's over and it was a success!! Thanks for sharing!

The other day you were asking who it was that received and AOR and PP request at the same time... I dont know if you figured it out already... but ... I did...

It was Candy... " UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Hello forum my Hubby received his AOR today requesting letter from step daughters mom saying she can come to Canada and passport request he has 60 days to complete and send off to Immigration Kingston. Happiest day today...."

So Anything IS possible!!!

Hi all, I am new to this site and will be reading up alot this weekend to get myself up to speed. Short intro, I am 31 yrs old and my fiancee currently resides in Jamaica. We are planning to get married in August. My current question I have is whether he should apply for a regular visitor's visa and just come up for a couple months and go back or should i just go ahead and commence the sponsorship application after August? I know there is a lot to know and this is my first time coming on this site.

personally blaq_uie2011 if he can apply for and get approved of the TRV before u get married then its way better as u wont be seperated as most of us on the forum are experiencing however if u get married then the chances of getting a TRV issued are very slim as they think he will overstay in canada until application goes thru which is about 7-10 mths time frame according to us on the site althought the cic website says 17mth, with the TRV depending on what he gets whether its a single or multiple entry then he can stay up to 6mth depending on visa so u can try apply before if he has strong ties to jamaica and someone other than u can provide a good invitation letter as fiancee's like myself are not always the best to write as the VO(visa officer) might think he may overstay i was planning on doing that but changed my mind as i normally try to go to jamaica every 6 mths well i hope i can keep doing that after my september wedding and application fees

blaq_uie2011 : Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! How exciting!! You can definitely apply for a visitors visa but chances are not great he will be approved. Unless he has a lot of ties to Jamaica such as land, house, car.. job letter.. things that he has to go back for. Regardless of the route that you decide to go, over the next few months you should be compiling supporting evidence as proof of your long distance relationship.

Ripley-this is probably the most frustrating thing I've ever been through. I'm so anxious and to tell you the truth it takes everything I've got to try and remain positive and not lose hope. Everyday that goes by without a call or a letter just adds weight to my worries and I agree with you in that it sucks that we have no one to contact regarding the status of our file. all I can stay is God bless this forum cause it has truley been my saving grace! I too try and keep busy and Booking another trip for July has in some strange way made me feel like i can wait! Hang in there girl...we will hear something soon! Take some comfort in knowing I'm in the same boat as you.

During my last year or whatever in Jamaica, I've decided to get skinny and fit. I love exercise but sometimes lack the energy especially in the heat. But I've dedicated myself and my brother sent me this natural energy suppliment since I'm real big on natural remedies vs medical things. HOLY CRAP...does it ever work. I did a hour long running, hopping, flailing about arobics class today and didn't even realize how hard I was working out until I finished and was dripping wet and barely breathing LOL...and still felt I could do about six more hours. Yaay for that...hello skinny me...we soon meet!! LOL and just a random thing...when people in Jamaica hear I'm into natural stuff...they automatically think that means I like to smoke and I've never smoked...totally not my thing...but funny thats what they think of first!

Feeling fantastic today and thought I'd share.
