Jahlove - My hubby and stepson did their meds at the end of July, the 29th or something like that.

togirl2011 - Thx. But I am confused about your situation because I am kinda in the same boat as you. My hubby has a son that will not be accompanying him to Canada (well not initially anyways-we're going to file for him afterwards). We did have to provide all of his info and do his medical etc but we didn't have to include permission that he could leave the country/sole custody documents. That only applies if he would be accompanying your hubby to Canada. I know because at first my step son was going to come up with my hubby, but because of a very long drawn out custody process (not because of issues with the mom-she agreed, it's because the court system in JA is very slack), we ended re-doing the forms to file without him. To make a long story short, my hubby just got the doc from the court confirming his status as sole custody even though the judge ruled on it back in November! So imagine, if we decided to wait for the sole custody doc we would have only started this entire process a month ago!

In any case, I wouldn't worry about that slowing down your applciation becuase it didn't seem to have an impact in our situation.

thx LMF. that is helpful. I hear you. CIC told me that at the point of application they wish to confirm that the spouse has the "right" and "permission" for future sponsorship. ...what you said, makes sense though. either way, we could have problem with the mother so we got her sign off that he has full custody and that she gives permission for future sponsorship ...signed by JP. we are filing for passport so she doesn't cause a problem down the road. she's a likkle bitter about their break up but does nothing for her son....but she is the mother and has rights. I was just panicking a bit about file hold up cuz others don't say anything about kids. glad to hear you have a similar situation and are getting thru.

Hello Everyone,

I have been very stressed out and very depressed for the past month since I returned from Jamaica early April. I have been reading but reluctant to post as I have been going through some personal items and relationship items and a combination of everything in between.

I feel a little better and just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!

It feels good to read that people are FINALLY being processed and receiving passport requests.

COMMENT on Bringing step-children

On our application we are applying to bring my step daughter to Canada. I know that previously there has been long waits with children involved due to the fact that they need to get all of their background checks complete etc as they need to ensure that the other parent complies with all the correct documents re: custody etc.

when My husband went through the custody papers through court, he applied and received the custody papers 2 days after court. Both parents who agree in court is easier for the processing of the paper work. Although, maybe because my husband and I know people who work in the court house it helped us with a faster process.

I know by reading previous posts most dont apply for their children due to the fact that there is a longer waiting period with children involved.

I am so happy for all who has movement on their files....this just makes my day. It was way too quiet in both forums...

I hope all is well with everyone...and I am eager to hear more news from our forum friends tomorrow as its TUESDAY...

Can-Indy-Jam : I think we have all experienced that crash and burn feeling after leaving our spouse behind. Saying goodbye over and over again without knowing when you will see eachother next really takes it toll! I'm glad you are feeling better and have come back to some wonderful news. You and LMF2011 are fairly close in processing time so I know even for me, it gives me a little hope that it can be our update at anytime!! ;D

I am so happy to see Tuesday here again. We already know we'll be celebrating with Ladyposh but who's gonna be that morning phone call we always seem to get!!

Goodmorning everyong it's mrs latenighter,just saying congrats to all who got and getting calls this week. I am hoping I am one, so yesterday am sleeping knocked out cold to,woke up about 1pm to get ready for work and seen hubby called the landline and cell about 10 am my time 9 his so am saying to myself lord he got to call to come pick up his passport,because he knows better than to call me so early in the morning to wake me up given the shift that I work. I then decided to call him back and first thing i said was babes you got the call huh! he was like what call? me just kiss me teeth and say nevermind lol then he realized why I asked he said oh no boo i was calling to remind you about your doctors appointment today. I was like oh snap because I never remembered lol. So I am hoping that the next time him call me so early will be to tell me he got the call. On my way to work I checked my mailbox and got a letter from cpc missisauga telling me the recieved the rprf and they already notified kingston,which was pointless because I had already call the call centre and found out they recieved it. Anyways I have a general question not relating to this topic,does anyone knows how long it takes to get back your bail money once all charges have been dropped? I signed a cash bail for my bro back in feb his charges were dissmissed late march I went on april 7th to old city hall to get my money back they said i will get a check in the mail in about 2 weeks it has been more than 2 weeks and no check in my mailbox am a bit worried because that's my tuition money. If anyone has any general ideas it will be greatly appreciated thanks my forum family. xoxox :-* :-* :-*
