Hey Jahlove-I'm going to call hubby now to ask, but I don't remember him telling me that they requested original docs. one sec....

Jahlove-I just checked with him and no they didn't ask for original documents. They just said please bring in your passport so we can finish the processing of your application and they also asked him to bring two passport photos because they ones we submitted were all signed at the back because I could have swarn that's what they instructions said to do, but oh well.

LMF2011 : With Kingston we really need to expect the unexpected. I think you are the first person I've seen that has not been asked for original documents so far. But Ladyposh was the first I saw who was asked for both original documents and passport at the same time... and couriered to boot. Then there was someone who received a letter in the mail requesting passport drop off. They are coming at it from all angles... but as long as they are coming at it!!!

Good Afternoon Newbies...I have been so busy all day I have not had a chance to check in....so as the saga continues!!! On Saturday my husbands says " babz like how dem tell mi fi check my intinerary to make sure I can leave by June 11" we might as well just book the ticket....my response was you told me they asked if you can leave by then....which to me is two totally different comment. So i booked the ticket yesterday with AC for May 28th but and I have until May 4th to go to the AC booth at the airport because I have some AC vouchers to use towards the ticket.... Then this morning he gets a call from the IO saying that he needs to come in with his intinerary tomorrow showing that he will be leaving by June 11th....So I had to have AC fax me a printout of the intinerary and I faxed it to him. Can I tell you it is a good thing I booked yesterday because I got the one way ticket for $262 CDN taxes in and when I went back on today there was nothing available for that timeframe...GOD IS GOOD!!!! but if my hubby had listened the first time we would not be going through all this rush because the IO apparently told him to also submit the intinerary with the PP and original docs. I just hope when he goes tomorrow they just gve him back the PP with the visa...I mean we paid for the return courier for nothing but that is the least at this point!!! WHAT A DAY IT HAS BEEN!!!!

Jahlove-Oopsies! Yeah I did mix up the names. My bad, I'm working and chatting at the same time! By the way, what do you mean about Charlie and the other list? Sorry, since I haven't be on in a hot minute I may have forgotten about something I guess??

Lilmaya - really? Actually I didn't even know they ask for originals. So when you asked me that I was like, OMG did we miss something? So when I called my hubby I was like are you sure they didn't ask you for the originals because the girls are the forum are asking me about it! LOL

It's weird that they seem to have a many processes though. Hey has anyone heard of it taking longer than 2 weeks to get the passport back once its dropped off?

LMF2011: on the other forum, which is the kgn thread your name is there on the list, the last update that is there for you is when you got the AOR, so i was thinking maybe you would like to have it more current, so Charlie will upate your status

LMF2011 : I definitely don't think you missed anything... however if your husband has his original birth certificate and your marriage certificate... you may want to tell him to take it ... just in case.

We had one member take almost 2 months recently... however 1 to 2 weeks seems to be the norm lately.

Thx lilmaya. OMG it took someone 2 months! Yikes, that's craziness. Yeah, i think it's better to be safe than sorry and so I'll tell hubby to bring those docs with him.

congrats LMF and Ladyposh. sounds like things are moving along.

my understanding with original docs is only if you did not already provide them. we provide original marriage cert and birth cert so not expecting any doc request. although I am confused about children not accompanying the spouse. when I called CIC they advised that we had to, at the time of application, provide a medical for the child AND proof that the spouse has full custody and/or permission from the other parent to allow the child to come to canada in the future. they said that at the time of application they will sort through the custody and permission as this does not happen again. When we sponsor the child later it will straight forward because all that was sorted out in the beginning. I don't believe it has anything to do with where the child stays when the spouse leaves JA or the travel part (cuz child is being sponsored b/c spouse has custody/permission). Am I out in left field or missing something?
