Good morning everyone! I just got back yesterday from JA after seeing my hubby for a week! It was a great visit, haven't received any news from the Embassy.

Mrs. Lonely wife are you Canadian? Your process seems a lot quicker than mine, are there any special circumstances like a baby being born involved? We had a friend who was a month behind us but they pushed their application ahead because the baby was born and he has been in Canada a few weeks now.

I am not sure what to do? I faxed a letter a few weeks ago but have received no response. :(

Congrats to Ramdont!

Good morning everyone!!, hope all is doing great today and pumped for some great news fro kgn office today though to tomorrow.

Quote from today's Daily Bread - Haters Of God

The Bible tells us that a rejection of God can actually lead to a more hateful attitude toward Him: “Even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind . . . [to become] haters of God” (Rom. 1:28-30).

Turning one’s back on God does not lead to secular neutrality. Indeed, recent militant atheists have shown their desire to remove any reference to a Creator from culture.

When we hear about atheists trying to remove crosses or the Ten Commandments from society, it’s easy to respond to their hatred of God with our own hatred. But we’re exhorted to defend the truth with an attitude of love, “in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth” (2 Tim. 2:25).

The next time you see the works or hear the words of a hater of God, do an attitude check. Then ask God for a spirit of humility and pray that the offender might come to the knowledge of the truth.

Lord, help us not respond in kind
To those who hate and turn from You;
Instead, help us to love and pray
That someday they’ll accept what’s true. —Sper

Have a blessed day everyone.

jaruby and ebonysunshine have been waiting far too long! Scary. Have you contacted an MP or ordered CAIPS notes?

Good Morning Fam,

Good morning everyone!!!

mrslonelywifey... i think for regular visa its 10 days from the day you drop it off... but in our cases you have to wait to get a call back to go pick it up...

jaruby.. I hope you have a nice time with hubby and I am not sure if your question was directed to me or to mrslonelywifey... if it was to me... I am indeed a canadian and there is no special circumstances... no children involved in our application and I am not pregnant... It took 10 months 1 week for my application to go through which seem to be the average lenght of time for application these days with the Kingston visa office...

I am hoping we hear some good news today as its been pretty depressing weather the last few days... on and off rain... hoping for a little bit of sunshine through all the rain :D

Lilmaya how do you apply for CAIPS notes?

Lonelywife I guess it is MrsLonelywife whose process seems to have been quicker than mine.

Could my process be a bit slower because we have his two sons on the application but are not bringing them till my husband is settled and working? Calling your MP does it really help?

jaruby : I have not done it myself but I think you get them from this website:
http://caipsnotes.com/Order.shtml I am not sure anyone has learned much from CAIPS unless a bring forward date has been added to your file or if you were selected for an interview it is apparently helpful to see what their concern is. I don't know if anyone has found contacting an MP helpful either however in your case as you have been waiting so long, I don't think it can hurt. It seems Kingston doesn't answer fax or email replies unless sent in by an MP so at very least, it may get your file off of the bottom of an immigration officer's desk. I don't know. I think sometimes either one of these options just give us a feeling that we are doing something or taking back some control. I think if you included the custody papers, passport pictures and the medicals for his children, it should not slow things down.

What do you think fam??

Jaruby just a heads up kingston is suppose to update CAIPS but they don't from my experience and they experience of some other members... As per MP well most of them will tell you they can't help you until you have reached the 16 months standard time frame that is indicated online... From my experience they never replied to faxes and emails that I sent to them... When I contacted my MP, tried emailing and faxing and also when I order the CAIPS it did gimme a type of control and a little bit of hope that I would get an answer even if I didn't get one... I am not sure if having non-accompanying children would make a difference at this point in the application process.... I know that if the children accompany him and that the children are not the sponsor children so in this case if they are not you're chidlren it can make the process a little longer as they have to verify to make sure that everything is legit and that the other parent is ok with the kids moving abroad. Anyways I hope this info helps out :D

mrslonelywifey... it can take anywhere from 1 week to a few months... I don't want you to get discouraged... In most application you are looking at approximatly 2 weeks time... but to be on the safe side don't book the ticket before you get the passport back... I hope they call your hubby soon for pp pick up :D

Jaurby...I believe the link for caips notes that lilmaya posted is for a 3rd party website. These companies/people charge you extra and your consent form is signed to release information to them. The form is quite easy to fill out and will only cost you $5.00 if you fill out information yourself and get your husband to sign the consent to release information to you!

The link has been placed on this forum as well as the other forum so you can do a search. If you can't find it I'll post again.

Also you've mentioned on more than one occasion that a baby or pregnancy speeds up the imm process. I don't believe this is true. Are you sure it wasn't coincidence??? Or perhaps KG being inconsistent and unpredictable once again. It makes me really hurt when I hear that they would do that for some and not others. They denied my husband the opportunity be here for the birth of our son. We sent ultrasound reports, letters from 2 physicians outlinig that he would not survive following the delivery and that I had limited support. Mp was also involved and their response was that he was considered high risk for not returning due to family ties here in Canada(me) and not enough ties in Jamaica. If what you are saying is infact true they could of granted him his PR visa as there was enough time to do so. Anyways I know that every case is different but i'm inclined to think that that IO's have their policies that they are required to oblige and this does not support reuniting families more quickly based on pregnancy, birth, disease or death.

Ebonyshine I most certainly don't want to offend anyone, sorry if I have upset you.
We had a friend whose application was one month behind us so we were assuming that they were processed quicker because of the baby but maybe it is just kingston being unpredictable. I totally agree it is not fair, my husband and I have been together for 5 years but just got married last June, that couple have only been together since May of last year....it sure isn't fair. We were happy for them that he got to come but cried the next second because it seemed unfair. Sorry :'( Sorry to hear that your husband was not allowed to come to be with you.

I did get the Caips info, Thanks to all.

mrslonelywifey : Congratulations girl! You have to see that light at the end of the tunnel fast approaching. It does seem like a pretty fast turn over time in most cases lately, but as lonely_wife said.. there have been cases such as Ramdont where it took much longer than the 2 weeks. Either way, you are in the final stages so that is something to celebrate indeed!! :D

ebonyshine : Thank you for giving the correct info for CAIPS. Your notes should be arriving shortly i hope!! I can't tell you how very sorry I am to hear what you went through without the much needed support of your husband. Each one of us on here have our own story and the trials which have brought us to this very day, but your story is a real testament to just how cold hearted some people can be and it really sickens me to know there are people like that at immigration who hold our futures in the palm of their hands. I do believe like you said that Kingston does have policies that have to be followed and I do believe that Jaruby's friend's case was probably just coincidence however, in a situation such as yours policy should have been thrown out the damn window and compassion should have come in to play and i'm so angry with them that it didn't! You got next though girl... this I know ...and you have the solid support and prayers from this forum so hang in there my girl and tell hubby to stay close to the phone! Your time soon. :-*

jaruby : I don't think Ebony was at all offended by what you said and more so offended by the lack of process or consisitency in Kingston. I think when someone gets through ahead of their "turn", we have nothing left but to grasp at straws and try to figure out KNG's thought process and maybe what we could do different.. when in reality ..it seems more like a crap shoot then anything. Things that happen through immigration are NOT FAIR and we see it happen over and over again. I believe you will both give us something to celebrate very soon! Hang in there ladies!
