Newbie Pretoria VO, is there anyone out there using Pretoria Office???

Hello Everyone

I am a newbie, my husband is sposoring me from Toronto. My timeline so far...
Application received Missisaugga CIC - 25/03/2011
Application process started - 29/04/2011
Medicals REquested - 29/04/2011
Medicals Done and sent to Nairobi - 25/05/2011
Application received at Pretoria Office - 24/06/2011

So thats my timeline so far havent heard anything as yet, still waiting for Pretoria to receive Medicals. How long does it normally take to get them from Nairobi to Pretoria. I would welcome any feedback, and would like to share with others in the same boat , It seems not a long yet but I am going crazy waiting :'( :'( :'(

Am just starting the process myself. I sent the package to Mississauga on 04/08/11. and will be processing through Pretoria. My wife is Zambian.

I read in another post that they held someones medicals at the doctors because they failed to sign the release part of the form. You might want to check with the medical exminer's office just to make sure that they sent it along for you.

Could you tell me where I can add my statistics under my name like you have (I mean the info about date application was recied, processed, etc)?

Hello Chrispeach, nice to finally get someone from Pretoria. My husband is applying for me , he is a Canadian Citizen we are both Zimbabweans. Thanks for the heads up, I called the Doctors office were I got my medicals done a week after and they said they were sent through and I had also signed the Confirmation for medicals when I had them done..although I am still waiting to get the medicals received on my status..

Unfortunately it seems that Pretoria moves very slow for everyone but South Africans. Hopefully they mark it as recieved it soon so that your mind will be put at ease and your application continues on. This waiting is the hardest part.

I tried to go where you told me to but there doesn't seem to be an option for "forum profile Information" perhaps I have to reach a certain level of membership on here before it becomes available or something. I was just anxious to put it up there because I find it interesting to see how other applications are coming along.

Was just checking the furm and that is what needs to be done...I have to post 10 times before I become a member and the I can add those stats.

My wife and I live in Cape Town with our two kids, she is sponsoring me for the family class PR.

We filed our application on 03 June 2011 and Mississauga received and approved my wife as a sponsor.
Pretoria received my application on July 27, and I received all the info to be able to check the status online.
I have not yet file Meds as the designated doc here in Cape Town said that Pretoria must send me a form that I need to bring to the doc.

It's now end of September already and we are still waiting, slightly confused as to why the status is still saying application received on july 27th?

Any ideas, it's kind of sad that you can't even call Pretoria, you have to mail them, and they will respond within 30 days

theachrissy, I noticed your meds was requested before Pretoria received your application, did Mississauga send you a form or something?

1. You will be waiting forever for the IMM 1017 as is not sent in Spousal applications. Spousal applicants are supposed to send the medical with the application. The DMP is confused. Print off and take the Appendix C to the DMP http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3912e.pdf and have your medical.

last I checked with the local Canadian Doctor here in Cape Town, the Visa Office is supposed to send a medical request. I will contact the doc again.

As for medicals, my husband went to a dr in nairobi and all we had to bring was one form for him and he had the rest, and he sent them to the pretoria office, he seemed to know what was going on. So I am not sure why your dr in pretoria is saying the visa office needs to send him something - maybe he doesn't keep a supply of the forms?
