Hello,
I am applying for a canadian visitor visa in New York, NY tomorrow, I live in Houston and I'm flying to NY tonight. I would like to know (1) the deadline for the application to be submitted in person and (2) If my request is accepted, am I getting the visa stamp the same day or the following day?
I really need to be in Canada by Friday for my best friend's birthday so I need all the information I can get.
Thank you in advance

Assuming that you are American, you're from a visa exempt country. You don't really need to apply for a visitors visa.

hi cocoon,
did you get visa same day or next day? I am planning to go for in person visa next week.
I am flying from florida so was wondering if i book same day return flight or next day also about hotel booking.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Can anyone help update on this ? I am planning to drive next week from OH and would like to know more about In person service at new York. Their website info confuses me since they talk about this drop box ? Is same day or next day service available there by any chance.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks much in advance.

I am also planning to go to New York for Canada Visior visa.
can we collect passport same day? or they will give you date to come back for collect?
also I am on H1B, is they take all Orginal i-797 and I-94? or only Photocopy?

for Visitor Visa Next day service is available at NY Canadian Consulate.

If everything is in shape, NY consulate asks u to come back next day. For some countries and cases, they email u next day if it is going to take longer.

I recently applied for Canadian visa through CIBT and got it approved and delivered to my home within 3 weeks from NY consulate office. CIBT did a good job as it was very difficult for me to go to NYC from MSP and stay there without knowing how much time it would have taken. It was not so costly also as flying & staying to NYC would have cost much more for me. If you have some time in your hand I would certainly recommend this.
