Wow, hardcore stuff there
Presumably those who have already applied won't be impacted?

Thanks for sharing

Now they are matching the supply with the demand.

No, please read the new release carefully. This cap is only for applications received between November 9, 2013, to October 31, 2014.

Feel so sorry for all those who had plans to apply for CEC soon. Seems so underhanded not giving any lead time.

My apology, I had a bit of a freak out and read only what i wanted to read.

I was somewhat surprised that food service workers were ever eligible for skilled migration, but in any case it does seem harsh to dash the hopes of those who were about to apply.

It is in-line with the general trend, immigration stream reduced every year. First FSW backlog slash, new rules, stop of certain family sponsorships, now this..Canada is slowly closing its immigration programs.

They are not IMPROVING it, they are killing people's dreams... My application was received today, if I don't get an AOR I am screwed... I had a feeling about this and even told my husband we should apply asap...

"CIC will establish sub-caps of 200 applications each for National Occupational Classification (NOC) B occupations."

Only 200 per NOC B?? This is F'ed up!!! WTF!!

Hi ,
Need some info on new changes announced and effective from Nov 9 , 2013
"Effective November 9, 2013, CIC will introduce sub-caps of 200 applications each in certain skilled occupations. Also, six particular occupations will no longer be eligible for the CEC"

Do anyone know which NOCs or occupations re no longer under CEC ?

The list is in one of the articles in the original post.

Six occupations will no longer be eligible for the CEC starting November 9, 2013:

cooks (NOC code 6322);
food service supervisors (NOC 6311);
administrative officers (NOC 1221);
administrative assistants (NOC 1241);
accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 1311); and
retail sales supervisors (NOC 6211).

Also NOC B occupations will have 200 limit.
