Hi,

I have come across a new portal for TRV applications. I wanted to know if anyone has used this new portal to submit a TRV application recently?

Planning to apply for my wife's TRV and was not sure if I should use the new portal or the existing one on GCKey.

You need to use an existing one (gckey) to submit a TRV application. This portal is for Permanent Residents Applicants!

That is 100% incorrect. This is the new portal for TRV applications.

Yeah, my apologies! For pr applicants address is https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

Confusion was there.

When you try to signup, it asks for Invite Code so obviously it's not meant for all applicants. Maybe IRCC is sending invitations and testing it for now.

Afaik old gckey portal is accepting applications for TRV. Mine is pending with them and awaiting approval. So i would suggest you to please us the old one.

We just used it two weeks ago to apply for a new TRV for my husband to come to support me during the birth of our first child. We have the GCKey portal for our PR application which is still in process (Nov 2019), and we are trying to get PHAC exemption as a last ditch effort to be together during this time. I have had confirmation on receipt of TRV application and PHAC request but no follow up on either yet

You seem to have been living in the US until relatively recently. Assume you reapplied for your health coverage when you returned to Canada if you have been out of Canada for quite some time and know you and child will need to remain in Canada for 6-12 months (depending on the province) to meet the residency obligations for health coverage or you can be asked to pay back all the healthcare you and your baby received. Many are unaware that a valid health card does not mean you qualify for health coverage.

Thanks for your concern. I have it all covered

how do you get an invite code?

I guess it's safer to use your GCKey portal/account; when IRCC needs beta testers they'll ask; if they want to switch over totally, they'll make a formal announcement.

I started applying through gckey for my parents' TRV then switched to the IRCC portal, now I am confused, which one should I use?

Did it work out? PHAC exemption?

Hi, It says TRV portal but it also gives option for study permit. Can I use the portal to submit a study permit? How about work permit?
