She included her email. But was only getting paper mail since we started this process. But let me ask you 2 questions please. 1. Do the Sponsor get notified about the biometric instruction for the Principal Applicant? 2. How did you get your own biometric instruction letter? Did you get it in Nigeria or did your Sponsor get it in Canada? 3. Whatever the situation, how did you go about your biometrics? How much did you pay and where did you go to get it done? Did you book any appointment? Thank you for being so helpful
In my own case, my wife acted as my representative, so the biometrics letter was sent to her email i think a day after her sponsorship approval, she also received the email when my application was moved to accra. I linked my application online after it was moved to accra, from then every other correspondence was sent to my online account (medicals, pre-arrival letter and passport request) and each time i get an email telling me that i have a message in my online account. The biometric and PR fee was all paid b4 submission, so i didnt have to pay anything for biometrics, u wld only have to book an appointment with vfs for the biometrics. There's VFS in lekki, Lagos and in Abuja too. Hope this helps

It really help. I appreciate you.

Sponsorship application $75
Principal applicant fee $475
Right of Permanent Residence Fee $490

Total $1040. This is the amount we paid. Which means we still have to pay $85 for the biometrics. Am I right?

Yeah, u wld still need to pay for biometrics. So what i don't know is if u wld need to make the payment first before u wld get the biometrics letter, if that's the case then maybe the letter they sent cld have been letter instructing u to make payment. Either way, u have to find a way to contact IRCC or ur visa office.

Ok. I think I'm very clear now. Cheers!

Please, can you share your timeline with us, it will really be of a great help to us who started this process newly, so we can relax our mind and know what to expect, thanks

Do anyone knows if AVO is still processing or they stop because of the lockdown?

The current situation has disrupted processes, as such my timeline wldnt be of any help to u. Things are moving at a much slower pace now

Please what letter did you get before you went for your biometric? Also, how did you go about your biometric? I'm just a novice to this please. Your kind answer will be highly appreciated.

I received the Sponsor Approval letter before the biometric advice. I booked an appointment for my spouse on VFS website and appeared with the biometric notification along with the travel passport as an identification.
N:B;
I did pay for the biometric upfront when I made my application fees. As such, I received biometric notification from Sydney before sending my application to Accra. Hope this satisfies your enquire. Stay safe.

Do anybody have idea how long background check takes to be completed and eligibility

For the background check u will never see it as complete untill ur application is complete in my case it always showed "still processing ur background check" until the day my application was complete that all the dates were shown on my profile as to when they finished with my background check and it was really done early bt never showed. So for that jst relax and the eligibility also was the day i was sent the pre-arrival letter bt that too never showed complete until my application was done. Hope my explanation helps.

Have similar timeline. File transfered to Accra on January 21 too.
When did you apply? And how can we keep in contact to know what to expect

Thank you so much for all this info. I wish I found it before applying the first time to sponsor my husband. He is Togolese, so his files are treated in Accra. IRCC received the document on November 22nd 2018; the expected completion date was November 22nd 2019. I was approved as to sponsor him on July 2019 and the file got transferred to Accra. Things went pretty quick form there, in August he was requested and did his medical. In October he was requested to and did his biometrics. That's when things got stuck. In November we emailed Accra because we were not seeing any update on his page. We found out that they lost or never received his biometrics. He did it again and they received it November 27th. Since that date, there is no more update on his file. We emailed them couple of times, but were told that his files are in queue to be reviewed. Can we do anything at this point? Will hiring a lawyer help the process move along?
Thank you.
