With so many new pathways, getting PR in this country got easier than it was at least five years ago.
Right now? Yes. If you're in Canada, are relatively young and educated getting a CEC invite right now is a breeze, and if you don't have a skilled job now you also have a chance. But, shortly before Covid cutoff scores had been skyrocketing for a bit:

Now, compare the above to the scores from early 2019. 438? 440? FSW-inclusive draws haven't seen those low scores again and I doubt that with the upcoming EE changes we'll go back to those scores.

Anyone knows how to sign into the signature box and type your name in "I (last name, first name) ___ on behalf " for the form Generic imm 0008, the lawyer said don't print it, but if so you have to leave those 2 fields blank?
1. Don't print it.
2. That form needs to be updated.
3. When you apply you'll be prompted to sign digitally. Sign and scan all the other applicable forms, not this.

Quick question guys.
My IELTS is tomorrow morning. Honestly I don't feel prepared, and I'm a native English speaker o_O.
My test was supposed to be on May 23rd. On Friday, IELTS reps called me that they have to switch me because of overbooking. It was either May1st, 3rd or sometime in June. I was scared that June was too far and May 1st was literally the next day. So I opted for the 3rd (Tomorrow) I'm freaking out because I don't have enough time to prepare
What is the lowest score to be eligible to apply for the TR to PR program. I saw online it says:
  1. Have attained a level of proficiency of at least benchmark 5 in either official language for each of the four language skill areas, as set out in the Canadian Language Benchmarks or the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens. This must be demonstrated by the results of an evaluation by an organization or institution designated by the Minister for the purpose of evaluating language proficiency under subsection 74(3) of the Regulations; and the evaluation must be less than two (2) years old when the permanent residence application is received;

Honestly, I don't feel like I'm getting a band 7 or 8 or 9. Maybe I'll feel less pressure and do better tomorrow. But if I get a Band 5 or 6, can I still apply?
I'm just preparing myself incase I don't get a good score in the test LOL

Please advise
How did your test go?
Did you do the paper or computer based version?

Do you think that the receipt we have right now can be used when we submit our application or do we have to pay on the day of the application and use that receipt?
We don't know for sure. Very likely you can just use that receipt though. You'll just be redirected to that same portal on the day of the application.

So just to confirm if I have completed a 8 month (1 year) PG certificate I am not eligible to apply for the new pathway to PR right?

I had some questions. Hopefully someone can answer.
1) For proof of IELTS, I know I can submit online results, so would it be valid if I submitted the print out of the IDP ielts results page? Or can I do something better?
2) For the medicals, in the stream they said that you might not need one if you had one. I had one before coming to Canada in 2016. But I no longer have the receipt for this, will I be asked to submit a proof here or IRCC will have records? In that case I'm SOL.

Good Morning!

I recently just finished my last term and i'm just waiting on my Cert of Graduation and Official Transcript to apply for PGWP.
Once I received those I am applying for PGWP. Question: When I apply for PGWP, does it come with a TRV or I have to apply that once PGWP is approved?

Also, I read about a PR pathway for Int'l students graduates here which I can qualify. Another stream they have is if you have a 1 year experience in a certain job category.
Question: Should I apply for PGWP first and then try my luck with the other PR pathway? I am also turning 1 year this May for a job they considered for the PR application, should I choose to do the graduate category or the work category?

Thank you!

Hope they noticed, we're in May and saying more "information will be announced in May" no longer stands.

Sad that I can't book a medical until June nearby. Wonder if they will take a proof of booking medical as enough proof for admissibility.
