To be eligible, your work permit must be valid until IRCC finishes processing your application and you must be legally employed, we don't have a timeline for that yet but it could be anywhere between 6 months and 2.5 years. So if your work permit is about to expire, you're on your own and have to figure out how to continue working legally.

Yes, that's the whole point, be employed. If that wasn't an option they would've said graduates as long as they graduated they can employ, but, they put a condition of employment.

I feel bad for people trying to travel right now so they could be in Canada before May 6th to apply for this stream. A lot of graduates, PGWP holders, have been traveling lately.

Well, what makes CEC so enticing to people who meet requirements for both is that IRCC has expressed that CEC applications are processing at "full capacity", which means that's where the processing resources are going.

This new stream might be extremely simple, but assuming it follows the same process as EE:

Eligibility: Checks that the applicant meets the program requirements, with the new streams should be easy
Security: Very time consuming, you're scrutinized to see if you appear on the Interpol, FBI, etc databases
Criminality: Review your police certificates
Medical: Considers whether you're medically admissible or not
Info Sharing: Shares database information with other countries
Final: Whether you've been approved or not

But ultimately, if there are less officers taking care of the 90k applications it could mean this process might as well take as long as PNP.
It really sucks not to have the full information, it's very difficult to make an informed decision with FOMO, half-truths and with an upcoming EE reform.

Right but with criminality and medical, most study permits have that as a pre-requisite, and all they need to check is RCMP's database for Canadian specific offences. Similarly for the security stage, you were probably already subject to this when applying for a study permit.

I am so angry with myself my immigration lawyer advised me to book ielts for end of June and I did so, I got it for 26th of June, I booked it like 2 months ago. Do you guys think I even have a chance to get in? I mean I would get results back on 10th of July. But I dont get it why did they put cut off on the 5th of November. If 40.000 spots are opened and if they fill in already in lets say 5 days, whats the point of it all?

We don't know yet, IRCC has many rules that are still in the dark. For example BOWP, IELTS, Graduation letter. Until and unless we see the document checklist, and any specific conditions, it's hard to say if it'll fill up quickly or not.

That's very different. This requires a complete permanent residency application not just a registration like OINP. You need a language test certificate number. You need to prepare so many documents, travel history, personal history, address history, family information.

This simply cannot be true. First of all, there's no mention of needing to be employed when processing your application is done. There's a condition for being in Canada when your processing is done so they could have added the employment status requirement if it was the case.

Secondly, you have less control over employment status than the country you are in. You decide to travel. No one kidnaps you abroad. With employment, you can loose your job at any moment. The company could go under tomorrow. It's insane to expect people to hold any job for more than 20 days.

Please don't spread doubt based on some lawyer's guess. If they needed you to be employed when processing is done, they would have mentioned. Just like they mentioned how you must be in Canada when processing is done.

Show me one single program where the requirement is that you have a job when a decision is made on your application.
