Wow, everyone's so cynical. It's obvious that CIC is underfunded for the volume of work they do, and increasing funding will allow them to employ more staff which will in turn bring down processing times. This is actually easy - it's just a budget decision the new government can make. It's not some complicated problem like solving the homeless problem or reducing unemployment.

More money = more staff = reduced processing.

The bad thing is that this takes time, and it's unlikely to have much of an affect on those currently waiting in the system. But there's no reason it can't be done.
