Hi, we sponsored our half sister and she is 9 yrs old. App received was in Nov 15, 2019. It got transferred to MVO late December, Medical passed in Jan 8th, AOR2- ECAS on Jan 9th. Til now no update. Please keep me posted with the update of your child’s app.

Yes, of course. Let's keep each other posted for updates - for support and exchange of ideas/and information of the process timeline. I see other visa office (outside Manila) as fast as 1-2 months. I haven't seen anything less than 2 months for MVO .
Hoping because they don’t need biometrics and even background check. It would be straightforward. When did you submitted your app?
I'm not too familiar with BGC (Background check) and what it entails in that process or that step. Pero I know my child doesn't need biometrics , from what i was told.... (see below taken out from CIC) . I had it in bold below where mine applies. Hope this helps clarify your questions about biometrics.
"Exempt – Age
Under paragraphs R12.2(1)(a) and R12.2(1)(b)
- Asylum claimants aged 14 or older are required to provide biometrics (no upper age limit).
- In all other cases, applicants younger than 14 years or older than 79 years are exempt from providing biometric information.
- The age of a temporary residence applicant is set to the date the application is received, and the age of a minor permanent residence applicant is set by using the lock-in date defined in the permanent residence process."
