Our member of parliament just got this response from the CiC.

CIC advised:
- March 13 medicals approved
- File now at 14 months processing - delays related to furtherance of medical testing
- File is complete awaiting final approval
- March 15 was the noted 'Bring Forward Date'
- No notes on file if application is currently with an officer for final review
- Officer recommended following up in one month to see if any action has occurred
- He explained - the file may be complete, but volume of applications in the final review/approval stage will determine when an officer issues finalization

Good news we seem to be finished everything and are only awaiting the final decision. I wonder how long it will take Manila to issue PPR when everything is "completed" like this. And whatever the 'Bring Forward Date' means in the grand scheme of things.

I want to wait until the 1 year mark before I go the MP route...but to better prepare myself, how did you contact your MP? Email, phone call, or did you go in person? What exactly did you say to get them to look into this for you? Any information is appreciated.

I googled the Member of Parliament for my area. That told me their email and phone number. I simply wrote an email explaining our situation and questions I wanted the MP to ask on my behalf. Then included my wifes UCI number and information to identify her and off they went. I have been in contact with the MP since October 2016 when CiC started throwing weird medical requests at us like "take an x-ray once every 3 months for 9 months". We wanted answers the and the MP got them fast...but the answers are usually very generic and don't explain much.

Good to get an update, but still leaves so many open ended questions! Why does it take so long for finalization when other applications after are being approved and getting PPR.

Yeah it feels like older applications are not getting any prioritization. Our GCMS notes stated major steps had been completed but nobody would look to do the next step for months at a time. Sounds like a very inefficient system. I was under the assumption it took long to determine certain facts not long for the next office to touch the document.

Youre right, immigraton had made the promise they will rush the applications prior to dec 2016 first but it seems they are doing things backwards and prioritizing recent applications. They received my application in november 11 2016. I only doc request a couple weeks ago asking for AOM, meanwhile every one else who applied after me got doc request in january or february.. it makes no sense.

so my wife will be bringing her passport and other documents to makati at vfs. how long did it take you guys to get your passport back with visa and copr ?
