Definitely contact your MP!! You should have received some sort of update by now. Have you checked mycic? Under your circumstances I believe it is ok for you to contact immigration as its approaching one year. But from your timeline it does not seem to follow the standard speed of the process, it seems a lot slower. Are you sponsoring children as well?

I think the lack of interactions as provided on my timeline is because this is simply the "check application status" layout. I have an agent therefore I do not have some detailed logs/entries available. By the way, do they start counting time based on receipt date of the application ?

Yes, based on when they received the application at CPC-M.

Totally understand this feeling. It's been almost 12 months for me and I just don't know what to feel anymore. The whole thing is just draining. By the way, is there a number to call to inquire? Also has anyone here tries applying for a tourist visa ?

Bldc is right, contact your MP... My husband contacted his MP and he's the only one who told us the exact status of my application. Before im not able to log in in my GCkey, so We don't have any idea whats happening in my application.. And my husband and i are both happy for what the MP told us.. Till prvc help us to try the other way on how to log in. And im happy to see my BC is IP now, but its been more than a week still no PPR yet ..

But.....he's in the PI. I don't think he'll be able to contact the MP.

He will have an MP based on where he lived in Canada. He can email his Member.

As a Canadian citizen, he has representation in Ottawa in the House of Commons. I would personally use the MP for the last riding that I lived in.

Is that right? I was told otherwise. If that's the case then he can surely try.

That might also be the issue.. He has to show proof he will be moving back to Canada which is why the sponsorship is taking long..

Yes, he has to show proof. I have a Chinese friend from Toronto who married a girl in China...he moved there while processing the immigration. He had to prove his intent to return to Canada before her approval. He was able to show his property taxes for his home in Toronto as proof he intended to return to Canada. In the end, she was approved.

Hi Martin

This is similar to my case - I have to prove intent to actually move back but I have no estate, assets in Canada. All I have for evidence is my resignation from my company.

I am just thinking out loud, but if you can rent a place to live, that should show that you intend to move to Canada when she comes.

I believe it is one year from the date the application is filed!

Tried logging into mycic and got this..

"Error 503

We’re sorry, MyCIC is temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Please try again later."

I hope theyre just doing a mass update on everyones application haha.

Is anyone else having difficulty logging to to my cic? I know the service will be unavailable on March 7 from 0330-0530 EST, but that is still 4 hours away.

From what i read online it states:

In order to continue processing your application, we require the following information and/or documentation:

Proof of your sponsor’s intent to re-establish in Canada such as job offer in Canada, employment contract in Canada and other documents showing that your sponsor has started severing ties and began moving affairs back to Canada. I think you'll need more than resignation to show youre moving back but it is a step.. like we said, if youre a canadian citizen, you still have access to your MP for help. You can always email them.
