Hi,

Mahal po ang dental services sa Canada, it's not part of the government provided health care, unless you are below 18, a senior or you are assessed to qualify for one of their programs (usually for associated health issues or if below certain income). Usually ang dental costs dito provided by insurance companies as benefit ng mga employers or you purchase it on your own. Just to give you an idea, usually ang comment na naririnig ko sa husband ko and his family before is 'uwi na lang ako sa Pilipinas to do my dental health care me sukli pa ko sa pamasahe'. Just to give you an idea in Toronto, eto un nakalagay sa dental health care. http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=51b74485d1210410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD. Check yours kung san city/province ka.

So if you plan to continue it in Canada, either purchase an insurance for it kung wala pa sa benefit mo sa employer or sa yo mismo pag me work ka na, umuwi ka na lang sa Pilipinas uli pag me gagawin na update sa braces mo (mas mura un haha), hanap ka ng mga kakilala dito na dentist that can offer it at a discounted cost (or me mga dental students dito na minsan nagoffer ng services- un lang risky yun ha kasi nga 'students' sila).

As for documentation, you can ask but based on experience ko din dito, the medical personnel here don't really 'honor' un medical docs from non-accredited institutions/doctors by Canada (basically un mga sa medicals lang natin). Ni hindi nila titignan kahit bigay mo haha. Kasi they wouldn't know if what you're providing them is legit or not so they would still examine you based on their own Canadian medical standards. Madami din kasi differences medical system dito and sa Pilipinas that's why.

Hope this helps kahit papano.
