You may try to contact the CIC hot line. Tell them about your medical situation or might as well send email to MVO.

Sponsoring aunt to Canada?

Hello. What are the chances my aunt will be able to emigrate to Canada? What can I or my family do to get her to Canada?

1) I'm single. I live with my sister and my mother. We all are employed. Sister is also single.
2) Aunt is single, no dependents. No job/income but has properties. Country: Philippines. 58 years old.

She has been denied TWICE applying for a tourist visa. I am thinking it'd be better for us to just sponsor her to come to Canada since that is the end-goal anyway. She has no immediate family where she lives. Mom's and aunt's other sister lives 5 hours away. Is family reunification grounds for sponsorship?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

I hope someone can elaborate this to me: (IMM5481E)

5. Details of current and previous undertakings. Write the number of persons included in undertakings in effect and not yet in effect. If you have signed undertakings in the past, you must provide some details about them. Follow the instructions on the form and be specific.

* Number of persons included in previous undertakings you signed as a sponsor and that are still in effect

** Number of persons included in previous undertakings you signed as a sponsor and that are not yet in effect (persons who have not yet become permanent residents)

I’m confused if these are referring to the family members he sponsored before, since he has two sisters who are PR already in Canada and he is the one who sponsored both under provincial nominee program. Please help me on these. Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Cheche15

You can't sponsor her. She will have to do it on her own under one of the economic classes categories. But with her age, and you mentioned she has no job/income (for how long now?), it may still not work for her. Sorry that she has been denied twice for TRV. Even though she has properties, being single, no job/income, no immediate family where she is, are most likely the reason for not being granted a TRV. She must show a strong proof that she will not be overstaying there.

Hi,

I am having same problem linking my application to my CIC account? Did you figure it out how to get it done?

What do you mean I can't petition her and she has to do it on her own? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a petition?
