Hi guys,

My husband and I got married in Canada when I'm on a tourist visa. We are applying for my sponsorship outland. We will submit our CENOMARs from NSO. Will CIC still request for advisory on marriage from NSO if we already have our Marriage Certificate from Vital Statistics of British Columbia and CENOMAR from NSO?

Kelangan din po ba mag pass ng Sponsor ng PSA/NSO Birth Certificate or hindi na po? Tsaka required po ba ung IMM 5645 FAMILY INFORMATION iba un sa ADDITIONAL FAMILY INFORMATION IMM 5406?

There's no mention of BC for Sponsor sa Checklist. San mo nakita yung IMM 5645? There's no mention of that as per country specific = Philippines.

Hi, seems everything complete nman po. I also just sent papers today to my husband in Canada via FedEx (my lucky day got it for free) .

Question po sa mga sponsored wife who still have their maiden name on their passport. Regarding NBI, when you requested one, did you use maiden name but status is married, or, you already used your married name? For NBI po eto ha Sana may makasagot. Tenchu in advance

i am not the applicant ,but i'm the sponsor of my husband in thd philippines.in canada it doesnt matter if you use your husband's last name or not..pero dahil nasa pinas ka pa diko sure kung paano magpalit ng last name jan,kung automatic ba na kapag nagpakasal eh mapapalitan na agad.dito kasi complicated magpachange ng last name daming ek ek.hehe.so kung plano mo din lang na palitan ang lastname mo to follow your hubby ,might as well do it now in your application..

As per hubby's suggestion na din, we both agreed I will still use my maiden name esp when I got my passport renewed. So that's what I did. In our country, it's pretty common the changing of name to a married name but it is also a choice of the bride to change or not. Pwedeng hindi except status na dapat Married na. Not so many are aware, I think

They probably did that as per Civil Code Art. 370. There are 3 options kasi and what they did was the first option "maiden surname+husband surname". Even with the 3 options, a married woman is not obliged to use husband's surname and still has the option to use her maiden first name and maiden last name except her civil status which should be from Single to Married

Yes, definitely not necessarily to use husbands name. It's in ur discretion But for us, my husband want me to used his name , so just for consistency to our application i used my husbands surname from passport to some of my ID's.

my husband thinks that when i return back here in Canada ,automatically my last name will be same as his.he was surprised when he saw my passport and i was still using my maiden last name hehe..so explain ko na kapag nagpalit ako daming changes na gagawin tska time consuming.sabi ko na lang pagdating nya dito tska na lang ako magpapalit..hindi naman required pero to make him happy na lang i'll do it once he is here.
