hi good evening!

Magpapasa na po kami ng passport next week for visa stamping. Usually how long po yung process? After po ba nun ano pong susunod na step?

Thank you po sa sasagot!

Based on earlier posts some were able to get their passports back about a month, some a bit after month. You need to have PDOS as soon as you get your visa. Congrats by the way! You're almost done :)

Is there a time limit when they request passport for stamping? We are traveling in September and following most timelines roughly around then will be our Decision Made. What happens if they request the passport but we need it to travel first. We are going to Vietnam and Thailand for a month. Can we return from our travels then get passport stamped or is there a time frame?

When they ask for your passport (PPR) they usually give you 30 days to comply like in other document requests but it could be less than 30 days, you won't know until you get the PPR email. They will give you your passport back in 2 to 4 weeks (or longer).

So we can only hope that the PPR is months before our trip in September 8...or after we return October 14. If not it will ruin our already paid travel plans? :( i hope there is a way to get an extension..if only for 30 days or something.

Base po sa exp ko, they didnt ask for new nbi clearance. What they are asking is if your medical is expired. My nbi was expired last march pa.

As far as I know police certificates don't "expire" as long as it was valid when CIC receives your application which is the date on your AOR email.

Yeah, sorry. Hopefully you get it after your return from your trip. Haven't heard of anyone extending the PPR deadline since it's the last stage of the application and everyone just wants it to be over haha

Just sharing based on previous posts I've read (not sure if it's on this thread or the other thread of Spouse/Family Class Timeline Manila-- can't remember), that when CIC or CEM makes a request of add'l docs, yes, you are given 30 days to comply. But there was one who said that you can ask for extension if said time frame won't be enough.

My thoughts and suggestions would be:
1. You might want to notify them by email a month prior to your travel dates that you will be travelling if in any case you get notified of sending them your passport.
2. If in any case there is no PPR yet and it is already your scheduled travel, just continue checking everyday while you are on a trip of a possible PPR.
3. If you get notified of PPR while on a trip, you may either cut your trip off, or, email them back immediately of a possible extension. Unless the remaining days you have left while on a trip is good enough for you to return and still comply within the said time frame they will ask you to send your passport.

I can tell that this matter is quite stressful. But don't get stressed out too much. Stay being cool, confident, positive and smile :) Go with the flow.
