is it a must to withdraw the 1st application in order for IRCC to process the 2nd application ? I have applied for the 2nd time but to date haven't withdrawn the 1st one.

No we should not withdraw, IRCC only with withdraw when they approve one.
Actually I was scared and very anxious
As I’m visiting my cousin who’s a Canadian PR but on the new rules cousin is not listed as immediate neither extended family member, but I did submit another application anyway, also I sent allot of webform sending proof of my vaccination and requesting for prioritising. I don’t know if all that helps but yeah after the long wait I finally got it.

Old application July 14, 2021
on Tuesday this week old application got biometric validity letter and got withdrawn as well and new application got updated and eligibility section changed to “we are reviewing “
Today my dad got an email:
Dear applicant,
This is in reference to your application for temporary residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, please provide a copy of your CV/resume including:
- The titles and dates of each position held;
- For each position and all years, a detailed description of your particular duties;
- For each position and for all years of employment, the number of people you supervised;
- Full names and titles (no abbreviations) of who you directly reported to
Please note: The requested information must be received in our office within ten (10) days of your receipt of this letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.
Please send your response as an attachment in reply to this email.

Biometrics: March 31st 2021
Pending new application
I would like to know if it is necessary to submit a travel itinerary as part of additional documents or not as we cannot buy tickets before getting a visa.
And also what other supporting documents can help the application as I am currently an international student in another country, not applying from home country.
I am planning to reapply again for a visitor visa to visit my brother via IRCC portal.

Did you act like an sponsor ? I mean showed your funds, job details or its only dads. Just wondering why they asked this.
I showed my job letter, funds, payslips as well as my dad’s..
they sent this to my dad email..
as far as I know they ask this for government employee .. my dad is a government employee..

Yes then TRUE. Government employees they do ask.. just provide they will then proceed
My dad is working in Defence .. so I was expecting this .. this additional document is good or bad sign ?

Congratulations, After the first application is withdrawn did u receive an email from them. Was the second application thru portal?
I think this is the longest 30 business days we have to wait. I am sure we start to hear soon. Applied on 11th sep thru portal. We should see some responses in the coming weeks.
