Hi everyone,

I am a new immigrant. My experience/background is in IT sector.

Any ideas of how to apply for IT jobs like good jobs websites, recruitment agencies, or whatever?

I am lost on how and where should I start!

Was anyone in the same situation before?

Thanks in advance.

Search jobs thro Google, Indeed.ca, agencies and IT company websites. It will take long time to get a good job here. Where you are located?

Look for a cheap A+ certification or CCNA otherwise keep looking and you will never get replied.
I dont know what is your specialty in IT but get the certification for a good job.

Hi MJaber,

What is your specialisation?

People keep saying that it is difficult to get jobs in Canada but I see so many jobs get posted daily on ca(dot)indeed(dot)com
I am an PR aspirant and this actually disheartened me a lot. It will be really difficult to sustain when you see months are passing by, your fund in hands getting exhausted, and you are still struggling to get the breakthrough!

Please keep us posted about your progress. Your experience will be useful for us.

Thanks.

I have two MS certifications (7 exams) and my employers can't care less about the certification.

Certifications don't mean a thing really.

Canadian experience is what matters.

Yes there are tons of jobs in IT out there, they move fast... so getting a job is quite straightforward, if you go below your expectations you can land a job in a week.

My very first job took 2 weeks to get a reply and 4 weeks to get an offer.
