New Form Alert !!! November 2014 - IMM 0008 Generic Application Form

I see an updated version of IMM 0008 -November 2014.

Just wondering when did this happen ? was it today ? If it changed today, how will it affect the November applicants ?

If they are going to update a form, they should put a notification prior to the change in the previous month. And they simply should not roll out a change towards the end of the month ???

Oh my! I have just seen this too...
I sent my package only mid November, so a little concerned about how it is going to affect...
Although since it is the Generic Application form I am assuming it will not be reviewed prior to sponsor approval in Missisauga..so perhaps the packages will not get sent back!

It is frustrating, that the forms change-with no prior notice, and with no change schedule.
Fingers crossed November applicants....

This happened in August. When a form was updated from June to August version. And a new form was requested for most of August & even some July applicants. This really sucks.

This form is common across different categories too. A friend just posted her application yesterday for CEC :-(

We sent our app back on July 11th. Like others here I didnt realise they had updated one form at the end of June. We got through SA without any requests for a new form although PR app hasnt been processed yet. Generally I think they give some scope for those who applied shortly afterwards however, I've read a mixed bag of people who had email requests to send in the new form, to those who had their entire application sent back. Fingers crossed you guys will be ok.

I think CIC make up their own minds about where to send an application depending on an initial assessment of whether it is deemed 'strightforward' or not, which is why they have maybe removed this question. For example many applications (including my own) which would normally have gone to London went to Ottawa and Mississagua - possibly based on the fact that an initial screening indicated no red flags, however this is soley based on the experience of a few people on here and some discussion with call centre agents after people queried why there applications were being kept in Canada.

However, the above only really applies (as far as I know) to visa exempt countries.

The august IMM change coincided with some pretty significant changes to the dependent sponsorship policy. I got the feeling that's why they were so strict on the new form in that case. That is only my option though, anything could happen!!

Hey Guys,

I've sent my application on the 17th November. I filled all forms on the 8th November (downloaded everything on the same day). I checked if anything changed in the forms on the 17th November (the day I sent it to CIC). I saw no changes in the dates on that day.

Any idea when the change was made?

Just checked something with a little IT help.

According to the HTTP response headers the http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf file was last modified on the web server on Sun, 23 Nov 2014 00:01:03 GMT

This was the last modification, but who knows if something also happened a few days earlier...

I still think, everyone should relax!

I sent my application on November 25th and two days before that (on Sept. 23rd) I checked the CIC website to make sure nothing has changed. I checked the website at about noon time on November 23rd. There was no update at the time! If they want to return an application for such a thing, they can easily find other things to return the application. Let's hope they accept all applications at least until the end of November.

August applicants had a similar issue and the form was modified mid August, some got notified and were requested updated forms while others squeaked by with no more required information. Just have it handy and ready to go in the event they ask for it. Good Luck

The changes in August were pretty significant. They changed the classifications of dependents, and it went from 1 or 2 to A and B, or visa versa. The November change was small it's just the Visa office. I'm hoping they won't send back applications just for that one minor change.

I did the same mistake as some others. Downloaded the forms just few days before the emerging of updated forms and sent the application out 3rd of December with old form.

i posted my application on December 15th... but i did not use the NOVEMBER updated Generic application form... i did not see that until now.. Sad so will it be rejected... becoz of that..? only the 4th question is removed from the new application form...
