No, I said I had planned to meet you months ago, but on the day I was supposed to meet you I was told I had an exam. Of course I'd focus on that as it's the bigger priority.

The government planned and promise x, y and z things. They have looked and weighed them up. They have decided that at the moment thing z needs to happen (student points). It is possible that soon they will bring in thing x and y (sibling and French) but it isn't yet a priority.

It all might happen, whether people agree or not. But it seems that now, students are the priority.
Do you think this is the only change on November 19 ?

I don't know for sure, none of us do.

However I believe such a huge shake up wouldn't be introduced over several weeks as this would cause huge confusion. I believe these changes will apply to this year's quota. I believe that with next year's quota, more changes will be made.

there wont be any huge shake up. the final score of a candidate would appear on final CRS grid, which is yet to be published. the picture will clear after CRS grid publication. that's why i say don't speculate or make any remark. I am not making any remark on any category and simply defending. I can get PNP, but shocked by the delay of announcement.

Taking away the 600 points for lmia? That's a pretty big shake up.

Why, why, why please justify why siblings deserve points.

Just because your sibling managed to get to Canada it doesn't entitle you to get a free ride. The more they give points to siblings, the more they are pushing out skilled immigrants who have no immediate connection to Canada. It makes no sense.

A sibling would have moved to Canada due to fsw or marriage to a Canadian. The sibling was happy to leave the family home country and immigrate. There's no emotional backing for the sibling to claim that they have been forcefully separated here.

Spouses, understandable. Parents and children under 18, definitely. A sibling you haven't seen for 5+ years for no reason, no!
Because it automatically ties you to Canada... Their train of thought is, if they have a sibling in Canada it's more likely that they'll be able to settle successfully than if they don't have anyone to rely on...

Your arguments are fair, but then again is: why give french extra points if you're not going to Quebec?

The worst hit would be LMIA acquired by chefs, restaurant supervisors etc, who would be replaced by International students and fsw. I think there is a big portion of LMIA holders who would be hit, hence benefiting those who are fsw and students with higher human skilled factor score. the points are 200 and 50 now for job not 600. 200 for those having vast experience in different managerial fields.

I don't believe French speakers should get extra as you can already solely speak French (no word of English) and still get full marks and chance as English speakers.

As for siblings integration, it's possible, but a sibling who gets pr doesn't have to spend any time with their sibling after landing.

That will be updated on the 19th, but unless the changes are published first, the only changes to the grid will be what's already mentioned.

Why not french speakers? They are the one of those who built that nation. Tomorrow you might even question on English.

What? Really?

Why do you not understand that Canada acknowledges French and English separately?

You already get extra points for a second language. French could be your primary and English secondary. If it was an English speaking country only and they needed bilingual people because the country was trying to ramp up foreign trade, then yes, give extra points.

You want to apply as a French speaker only? Great! Go for it! You want to add French as a secondary language? Great! You'll get extra points already!

What more do you want? A cookie?

I haven't seen any changes on the points for age, which is disappointing.

While I agree that the reason for EE is to get young people who are will be economically active for long time, they do required also highly skilled people and highly skilled people will be older people with much more experience...

LMIA was one way that older and more experienced people could get PRs, now that's effectively out of the window as no one is going to bother getting a LMIA for a measly 50 points...
