Hi,

I submitted online TRV application for my parents on 23rd December 2015. The status is being still shown as 'Open'.

The CIC site says '9 processing days' is the average time taken for TRV applications at New Delhi.

I am getting very anxious and worried. Dis it take so long for anyone. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Timelines posted on the CIC website are only indicative. It's not a *must process within 9 days* timeline. In fact, 9 days is very fast compared to other visa offices

Also, there were holidays for Christmas, New Year, and weekends

Cheers

You not alone. same situation here. Today is the 15th day.

Shocking how silent it gets. moreover, i did paper application sent to Visa and Immigration office which is located in another country other than my country (because in my country they dont process Canadian visas). This was in October and they sent it Dec 21 , 2015 that I used the wrong office yet its the office add on their website. Up to now I dont understand.

So the Canadian organisation conducting the training and sponsoring the conference where I am suppose to present advised that I upload everything online and there is letters of support.

I did so and this is the 15th day - no reply and starts next week.
I wonder if week days are considered. But i also read a post from Algeria..he applied on 21 dec and on 31st dec he got reply with his visa approved.
Good luck to us.

I uploaded online application from Zambia.

But paper applications are processed from Tanzania. I sent to Mirambo street and it stayed there and only returned 21 dec to say it was wrong address, yet that address is what is indicated on the site.

so 22 dec i uploaded everything online but till now, no reply. on 24th i got an email that my application had been updated but there was no update at all when I logged on.

America visa is less than 10 days

UK visa less than 5 days

Canada visa - no time, one cannot be sure. I am just thinking that it could be country with a lot of application from everywhere in the world. Because why should it be so. And you know for me, its just training and am returning to my country

Each country has their own visa processes/timelines. For eg: It is possible to get a UK Visit Visa in even 24 hours if one has previously traveled to US/Canada/UK/Schengen/Aus/NZ in the recent 5 years (without difficulty) + if one pays £120 for Priority processing/£600 for Super Priority in addition to the visa fees.

TRV applications (outside Canada) are processed by the visa office handling that country/region.... and not by CIC in Canada.

You cannot apply directly to the Canadian Embassy in Tanzania.... that's why your application was returned for wrong address. You can either apply online or paper application to CVAC in Dar-es-Salaam. There were holidays for Christmas/New Year/weekends. Hopefully you will get a decision this/next week

Looking at all of your comments... It appears delays are normal. I think I can breathe now!!!

I was stressed considering the SILENCE from the visa office. Though lame, I kept opening my application to see the message - Application Submitted to be sure that there has been no error at my end in submitting the application.

Just after 10 minutes of posting, I got a notification from CIC. I received the request for passports for my parents. DOes this mean that visa has been approved?

" This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We
require your passport to finalize processing your application.

Passport requirements

• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.
• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.
• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

Your passport must be received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada within 30 days from the date of this letter. Failure
to do so could result in the refusal of your application. Please ensure that a copy of this letter is included with your
passport."

How to send passports to VFS. Can we courier them or should we give them in-hand?

@ Ishneetd - congratulations. 10 minutes and you ar eon it

Bryna - please advise after submission if i can pay for that priority fee of 120 dollars. Because I should be attending and am a panelist at a conference, but its seems it wont happen.

Can i pay priority processing fee after I have already submitted application.

Please also confirm that TRV even if its applied online is still process at VAC level and not by CIC. I know paper applications are processed by VAC at country level, does this apply to online as well.

I just got a bit concerned because sometimes you see someone who applied online on 25 Nov and there has no feedback to date. and others upload and after 10minutes they are given feedback.

My passport has UK India SA Schegen Visas etc Visas and stamps becuase i travel a lot within the region. so just wondering why delay. I applied letters f support and also from employer and my bank statement and also payslips..property documents that I hold here etc

Hi Ishneet,

Congrats. In nearly all cases, a passport request means the TRV is approved.

You must submit the passport at the CVAC/VFS office either in New Delhi/closest to the city where you live.... pay the VFS fees + VFS consent form. You cannot courier your passport to CVAC.

You can choose to later collect the stamped passport yourself or have it couriered to your residence

So, quickly submit your passport :)

@Aheri,

The £120 Priority/£600 Super Priority processing fees are only for Visit Visas issued by the United Kingdom.

Canada does not have priority processing. So it is not possible to pay any additional service fees for priority processing.

VAC (Visa Application Centre) or VFS are the authorized service providers.... to accept visa applications/transit passports to CIC. TRV applications are then processed by the Canadian High Commission/Consulate General offices. There is no information on where online applications are processed.

There's no real delay in your case. Don't worry.... you'll probably get a passport request end this week/next week :)
