Caution
It happened with too many people
Local Agents are asking 10,000 INR to 15,000 INR for Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI Fingerprint Result)

The procedure is easy and crystal clear.
1. Download Applicant Information Form | Ref 1:
2. Download Standard fingerprint form (FD-258) | Ref 1:
3. Obtain a cashiers check for $18 U.S. dollars made payable to the Treasury of the United States

Procedure:
1. Fill the Applicant Information Form
2. Make 6 copies of Standard fingerprint form (FD-258).
3. Fill in all details in all the 6 copies of Standard fingerprint form (FD-258).
4. Go to a Fingerprinting Department of your local Police Station.
5. Ask Fingerprinting technician (Police) to take your fingerprint with Ink in all the 6 copies
6. They will keep 1 copy for there reference and rest they will give it you.

ASK THEM TO STAMP Standard fingerprint form (FD-258) all the 6

We can send 1 or 2 Copies of fingerprint but send 4 to Federal Bureau of Investigation so that there is no chance of any delay
if you want you can retain one for your reference.

For cashiers check for $18 U.S Dollars
Go to any ICICI NRI Branch that Deals in Forex and ask them to make cashiers check , they will charge nominal

18$+Charge to make cashiers check totals up to 1000 INR + 500 INR courier Charge

Total cost will be 1500 INR
I have done my self and i recommend to all not to waste money on agents

Can any one help me how to find out whether the DD (for RPRF) we sent to CHC, ND has been encashed or not..

FYI, I sent a D.D. from my bank (HDFC) dated 2nd Feb.. I called over phone banking to know the DD status but the representative told me that it will be only possible from the drawer i.e. CHC ND.. :o

I am really worried whether CHC has received it or not.. I don't want to mess at the last stage.. So wanted to make sure everything is correct from my end..

Please members help me out..

There is absolutely no reason for you to worry. There can be delay in your getting receipt of DD from CHC. Had they not received it, they would have certainly informed you.

Thanks mate for the information..

I was worried because my 45 days of period for submission of medical, PP and RPRF is about to expire in few days.. And I don't know why but rather than waiting for my consultant's words I just wanted to clear things from my end.. I m feeling very in secured..

If you have the DD number, actually I had a copy of the DD, and the SBI guys could very easily tell me when it was cashed, and even which branch in New Delhi. So the HDFC rep as either lying or doesn't care to help.
And this was the day the cHC guys called me to tell me that one of our pp needed correction. so it was for me a blessing in disguise in that i knew they had recd the pp and started working on the file.

best,

just picked from one of the other thread. May be a good reference for communication with CHC ND.

... I sentfull documentation to New Delhi VO on 12-Aug-2010. 3 weeks before I contacted New Delhi VO for the status updates. I got reply stating that the processing time is 8 months and they should be able to provide updates only if it exceeds 8 months. So I am hoping to get some updates in Mar or Apr 2011.

Myy case went very very complex when I received medicals

I use to put 2-3 equiries every week and also got reply for almost all .

And my application was finalised exactly after 10 months of submitting documents .

There is no need to contact CIC if your application is under normal processing times .

But if you have exceeded the normal processing time then you may contact to follow up . There is no harm in contacting CIC ..

The letter CHC sends along with stamped passports requires you to intimate them if there is change in medical, marital status, etc. What is the harm in informing them? Just send an e-mail. Most probably they won't reply as they don't need to do anything in your case. But you have yourself covered.

but in letter they have written that they ll ask for sending passport back if there is any change in status. ::)
