New Delhi (NDVO) 2018 - Spousal Sponsorship Outside Canada

Hi Everyone,

Its' good to read through posts of people in same boat as me. My application for spouse sponsor is in process.

BGC started in Dec 2018
File moved to NDVO Dec 2018
ECAS - We started processing, Jan 2019

At this point my guess is by April or May application will be processed so is it good idea to apply for visitor visa for spouse?
Will it cause delay in PR application ?
If there is no impact on PR application, I might give it a try.

Any thoughts please?

If your ECAS reads "We started processing,,.,,,..........." ONLY after FILE transfer Jan 2019, good news but if it was "we started checking your Background........." then it was v good 4 you as it takes a month or so after.

GCkeys serices will be unavailable from 3:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Eastern time, on Tuesday March 5, 2019, it is mtc. time; say Tuesday after 9 AM India Time, sometimes bring updates for many. But NDVO can do updates even on Sundays I saw.

Ok ! Well it has been more than a month now but let's assume month or two. But what do you think about my question on Visitor visa ?

You can try that many have success but refusal rate is higher when souse is already sponsored to come here. If U R A Citizen here why not go visit souse for 2-3 months which will be a +ve for the file as well. On the other side there is no -VE if apply for her to visit you.
Also few things if U apply for a visit Visa, even for a spouse; one of the most important requirements for a Temporary Resident Visa is to show that your stay is in fact temporary in Canada. The officer at the port of entry must be satisfied with your intent to leave Canada at the end of your visit. One of the ways you can demonstrate that your stay is temporary is by providing proof of the fact that you have something or someone to go back to. Your ties to your home country can be displayed in many ways.

For example:- you have family to go back to or a job that you will be resuming up on return. But what if you don’t have either? There are many small but relevant things that are part of our lives that tie us to our home country. Do you own a home or a lease? If yes, then your lease or mortgage agreements can display your ties to your home country. Financial assets such as, bank accounts, stocks and bonds, can help you demonstrate your intent to go back. In order to make a strong application it is important to provide a combination of these documents.
AND don't forget spouse may need to show a Return Ticket, means two way, double the amount usually.

But if it was that easy all of us can call our spouses here, I feel they should allow it too. But they won't simply give a TRV that my wife just wanna come here and stay with me for 6 months. It will be straight refusal. All TRV applications are treated same way ONE rule >>MUST go back>>prove ties/reasons to go back.

Thanks Singleman ! One more question, when applicant has update on pre-arrival services does it mean that background check is about to be complete or it is normal update they send everybody ?

I guess next step should be Decision made, then PPR followed by COPR.

My BGC started after transferring to NDVO. Timeline as follows :

Application received: 30th July 2018
AOR 1: 9th Oct 2018 | Med Req: 12th Oct 2018 | SA: 12th Oct 2018
Med Passed: 26 Oct 2018
File transfer to New Delhi: 23 Oct 2018
AOR 2: 13th Nov 2018
BGC 28th Feb 2019

Also did you recieve any update or email that your bgc started? Or you just saw this yourself in gc key?

We looked at all present ndvo cases who got DM or pre-arrival. It seems like they don't go by original recvd date and they go by file transfer dates 1 by 1 in order those were received, however at the end point they may keep an eye on total no. of months should not exceed 12 months. Any comments are welcome if my guess is totally wrong !

I got interview. Waiting for my consultant with al details. Doesn't sound like a good thing. Anyone else has any experience or any information about interviews, please share.

Prearrival is only issued to ones who do not need interview=waived. BGC may start same time. Rest is as you said seems right
