I had called once and an agent answered the call..She asked me about my query and as soon as I told her about immigration, she transferred the call to an answering machine...the answering machine as expected gives an automated response and tells you to check the status of your application online..
So no human contact.. Last time I call on this number the Aden told me to mail and sd no one will entertain query over the phone.. God help me

since the switch to BGC processing a week back was a big fat joke, the next indicator to wait for seems to be preservices arrival mail.my prediction is some may applicants will get batch DM's end of March and the rest will be dealt with in April.

Hey which vfs office did you submit the passport? And when?
Hey we got our passport today, within 10 days but our Immigrartion lawyer told my husband he has to carry $12000 with him in a form of travellers cheque or DD. This is the first time i am hearing something. Were you guys told something similar too?

June applicants will probably get something in April end or May right since May is first up on the list?

sounds about right. June would be dealt with end of April and all of May most likely. It's just really shitty how May applicants had to wait this long. I think last batch DMs were to April applicants and that too in Jan. May applicants have not got any such batch DMs and they have been picking and choosing. Lets see what the future holds.

Stay strong m sailing in the same boat with a toddler
How did u manage? I am 4 mnths pregnant nd no one to take care if I give birth before my husband comes.

This is a stupid thing on the lawyers part...if you are already therr and ur spouse is flying to stay with you..the spouse does not need to carry even a single penny...this is the con of using a rep. For ur file processing..we did everything ourselves and no such clause has been mentioned in copr or by cic...so wake and give it bck to the lawyer...these stupid ppl mk their own assumptions..god knows why do they add things by themselves

I completely agree with you . Your sponsorship application starts with the eligibility of the person who is sponsoring. The sponsor submits his/her TA and Notice of Assessment when applying. This is where CIC can check that this person is eligible to apply and have enough income to support the spouse. After passing sponsor's eligibility, then only your application gets transferred to respective visa office.
So whatever your lawyer said is completely incorrect.
He is confusing you with a person who is going to Canada as a PR via express entry. They have to show funds because they are not getting sponsored they are going by themselves so they need to show how they will survive there in the beginning.

There are may applicants and june applicants who have been getting dm. But obviously people don't like to update the forum when they receive such news.

you don't need such amount of money. your husband can come with 0 dollars. that 12,000/person dollar he is probably indicating is the minimum requirement amount for other sponsorship not for spouse. your husband can come to Canada with 0 dollars to show. @sheen

yeah its pick and choose.. if u look back to every month's applicants there are always a bunch of people that get it at the same time and then the rest are given one by one. but with may that hasn't happened yet- they are simply picking and choosing.
