Here’s another question -

I’m sponsoring my wife and have attached her passport, birth certificate and aadhar card. We have also attached her parents and brothers passport copies (even though I am not sponsoring them) but have declared them in the additional family information.

The question is -

In the checklist the point says ‘birth certificates for yourself and all family members, whether they are accompanying or not’

Do I need to provide the birth certificates and national identity cards for other family members - I’m not sponsoring them.

If I’m not attaching do I need to provide a letter of explanation?

Thanks.

Do I need to provide birth certificates of my spouses family members even though I’m not sponsoring them and have only mentioned them in the family information form. Currently I’ve only attached their passport photocopies.

Did you put a tick in the box for this point in the checklist?

Have you checked the definition of "family member" w.r.t CIC? Go through the guide before filling and/or submitting your application. You'll avoid having it returned and lose time. Documents of parents and siblings of applicant are not required. Only applicant's spouse and children. And in this case, since you're the spouse, just your spouse's children's documents.

I’ve read that. Just wanting to make sure as I was a bit confused. But thanks!

However in the additional family information form we do need to fill in the pa’s parents and sibling s details if any right.
yes you have to fill additional family information forum only nothing else

you have a bit of a waiting to do then.. they are currently dealing with April applicants, and then May.. so on and so forth.. unless you end up being one of the lucky ones whose application is dealt with fast if it has been selected for a pilot program.. however, most of the time it goes according to the month received. July applicants recently got an email from NDVO saying that they would contact them in May/June; with that in mind since you are August, it could be June/July for you guys! Hope for the best! Good luck!
mine is april 1st week , no DM from NDVO

Family members here mean you and your spouse and kids if any. Your spouse’ siblings or parents doesnt count in your family.
Correct me if I am wrong please.
