May 4th applicant received decision made on both sides this morning, but cic account still showing background in process, is that normal?
and how do we know what the results will be

Results should be positive, if it was otherwise they would have asked for interview. you should receive PPR in couple of days time

Same here it's really frustrating. 9 June applicant . I just sent a mail for my processing time and they replied that your application is reviewing by visa officer and ndvo processing time is 12 months.

how did you enquire about processing time.

My husband had an interview scheduled for Feb 1st, 2017. He got a call today from the visa officer who said that his application got approved and interview has been cancelled. He also got an email for passport request.

Congrats :)

first thing first, as long as you can prove the marriage and the relationship to be legit, that's all that matters to CIC and ndvo officers. The correct way of filling would be like the one you have mentioned, get married, change name in passport and then apply. 75-100 pics should be enough. What they are looking for is both the families be present and friends should also be involved.

Don't mention about traditional marriage, one you get court marriage taken care off then the rest is only a ceremony. Doesn't change anything, you are any way married after the court papers.

The only way she can be applied as an inland applicant is when she is in Canada already. So you have to apply her in an Outland category which is taking 12 months officially.

She is planning to apply for a TRV before court marriage so that after court marriage she can come to Canada and apply for INLAND with OWP.
Will this be any issue?

Issue? Here is something which u need to think about.....
1. If shes applying for a TRV on her own, then she will have to show her ties to India and intentions of coming back due to job, school, responsibility and what not. She will (if she satisfies the conditions of the TRV) a 10 yr Visa but with only 6 months to stay on every arrival or entry and those 6 months will be on the jurisdiction of the officer who's at the counter for Arrival stamps. And she cant mention anything about you or your association to her.
2. If she mentions anything about you or visiting you in Canada, chances of her getting a Visa to go see a boyfriend and a potential husband goes to ZERO.
3. If step 1 goes through, you will have to get married in a Canadian Court and apply for an inland application, keep in mind all this needs to happen within the allotted time on her Visit Visa Stamp else she would have over stayed her visa and would become a defaulter.

These 3 points are eye opener. I think I should apply as an OUTLAND and wait for the decision.

Thanks a lot, appreciate your answer. :D

100% agree with you on everything you said! Me and my spouse almost made this mistake but luckily we talked to a lawyer first and she stated everything that you did.
