Hello All,

Few questions for you my seniors in this topic:-

1. I have PR and my Gf is in India. I want to do court marriage and apply for her spouse sponsorship. Is it possible to have court marriage and get her name changed on passport and then apply ? (Will do some a small celebration to show the pictures)

2. I am planning to do the traditional marriage once she gets the PR. Is this a correct step?

3. Is INLAND process better or OUTLAND?

Please guys help me if anyone has any idea. My main motive is to bring her to Canada ASAP after traditional marriage.
If anyone has did the same, please share your views.

Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Different people will have different views about this bro.
If I was you, I wd not worry abt court marriage specially when the proceesing times are not that long now.
You should go through all the Outland forms , it will make you more clear that there are lot of things which have to be answered other than just few photographs.
u can only apply inland pr if ur spouse is in Canada.

first thing first, as long as you can prove the marriage and the relationship to be legit, that's all that matters to CIC and ndvo officers. The correct way of filling would be like the one you have mentioned, get married, change name in passport and then apply. 75-100 pics should be enough. What they are looking for is both the families be present and friends should also be involved.

Don't mention about traditional marriage, one you get court marriage taken care off then the rest is only a ceremony. Doesn't change anything, you are any way married after the court papers.

The only way she can be applied as an inland applicant is when she is in Canada already. So you have to apply her in an Outland category which is taking 12 months officially.

you can't apply for a tourist visa once your application had been submitted. You can apply for a visitor's visa also known as TRV. The chances of getting a TRV is way higher than a tourist visa.

May 4th applicant received decision made on both sides this morning, but cic account still showing background in process, is that normal?
and how do we know what the results will be

we don't have any data to a that info. It's all about timing and the amount of satisfactory information you provide for your file. Check the requirements on CIC
