The official website still shows 18 months for outland spouse with 22 days of sponsor assesment.
I heard about 13 months for people applying from canada which even we did.. but i still dont see it on the website.

I am indian living with my Canadian husband in Nepal.

How do I know if I fit in 18 month or 12 month category?

My wife currently holds two passports because of water spill on the old she applied and got the new one .But the new passport also has old passport number on one of the column.

1. Do I have to include both passports while filling the case.
2. All pages of passport has to be photocopy or just front and back
3. Do I need to notarize every single document I am attaching in the file.

Thanks a lot for your help.

P.S: Filling the case first time, please pardon me for any silly enquiries.

anybody who can answer...!!

From what I understand, her new passport is the one which is valid. All renewed passports contain the last Passport file number.

She cannot hold two valid Indian passports as per law so the new one is the one on which she will travel and be valid (the validity is given on the ID page).

In the travel history form, there is a question asked about how many passports held and there you give the number of previous passports and write the Passport numbers down if I remember correctly.

You only send the ID page and Address page (photocopy).

Which documents are you looking to get notarized-- follow the regional application guide for India when preparing your application. All instructions are given there!

Your Canadian husband applied from Nepal? Then it will be 18 month estimate as it takes longer when the sponsor is also outside Canada.

Applying from india takes 18 months
And applying from nepal takes 12 months.

Just see where have u applied from or are going to apply

If ur husband happens to file it from canada then its 12 months

Thank you for your reply.

We have a lawyer we send all the documents to Canada so I dont know if it is applied from Canada or India lol but I am sure it is nothing to in my case with Nepal because I am indian citizen living in Nepal.

I think doesn't really matter as months are only number listed on website because VO choose the way they want deal with each file :P

The official website reads the same. Should not be mismatched with trend.
Rest depends upon case to case

Ppl are getting in 3 months, 5 months, 7-9 months and few are waiting from more than 11 months and over the top few have crossed 16 months.

But the website reads 18 if applied from india and as my friend told, and seen from website if applied from canada its 12 months.

You put Canada if the sponsor is inside Canada. India if the sponsor is also living outside Canada. Since I'm in Canada and hubby is in a india it's Canada and since me the sponsor applied through CPC in Canada. The applicant country no longer matters as they can process around the global network.... supposedly.... according to CIC website.
