1. CIC Processing Time:

2. SPONSOR expectation during the first step:

a. AOR1 or Application package will send back for lack of important document
b. CIC-M might request for missing documents or updated documents - based on your spousal application package was sent
c. Medical, CIC payment, required application forms and Police report check
d. SA = Sponsor Approval email or letter

3. SPONSORED APPLICANT expectation during the second step:

e. AOR2 - from Visa Office
f. missing or updated document request - based on case to case
g. eligibility and criminality check
h. Interview if eligibility is in doubt - based on case to case
i. passport request for visa

Yes you or right this point,my be holiday for visa office , I told my wife Evan if I got email for ppr , my wife going to sent pp after Diwali , so much rush to travel we do not like it in the rush time , because not safe to mail the passport and travel in the bus very hard to get the bus ticket.

No. Your visa will be asked at US POE not at Canada. Here is what I did:
> I went to Niagra Falls (Rainbow Bridge)
> Put 25 cents to open the exit gate
> Go to US
> The officer at US asks " WHy are you here?"
> I say " Flag Poling"
> He opens the gate, issues me a letter and says follow the same way back to Canada side and show the letter to a Canadian officer.
> I did that and my PR was processed

Hi muskaan,

My wife also got her PPR for PR while she was on a visitor visa in Canada.She does not have a US visitor visa.The landing process was really smooth at the Rainbow bridge(Niagara Falls border).On entering the US border, they would give an administrative refusal or soft refusal since they know its just for PR landing.After that, rest of the formalities is just at the Canadian side.

so in that case you go to the border and return back? I am not getting this actually. So, as far as I know, crossing the border requires a US visa. how does it work in that case if you don't have a US visa?

No need of US visa. I know many guys who have done border crossing without US visa. You are not reaching US consulate, you can just return back to Canadian border.
