Guys... Just a small question... When does the medical results are assessed of shows as passed..??? Is it before transferring the file to NDVO or before??? Any idea???

hello! this question is for those who are preparing or have already travelled to Canada from India.

I am the sponsor and my husband is the primary Applicant. After our wedding in December, my husband and I moved to Qatar. Unfortunately I did not take my gold jewelry with me which is safe in the bank in India. My question is when we officially move to Canada I would like to take the jewelry back with me. It really isn't much. its just a few gold bangles and a gold necklace with earrings. along with that I have wedding gifts (earrings and necklaces) that were given to me by my uncles and aunts.

Will i have any difficulty taking everything to canada with me? I heard if I wear some of it no one will question me. Is that true? I also heard taking the jewelry out of india won't be a problem but if i had brought it back into the country then i would have to pay duty charges. But if i have an export certificate before leaving india, then when coming back with the gold then there is no problem.

What about when you enter Canada? Is that something that needs to be declared?

Should i divide it up among two people so it isn't much to declare?

any advice would be helpful! thanks!

Yes, you can carry your stuff with no prob. You need to declare (in B4 forms) all you are taking with you or will be taking/shipping in future. This post will give you detailed info:

Hi thakkarc, can you please share the details of the application and what all did you submit to get the TRV? This is pertaining to how did you position the invitation letter, and show the duration of the trip?
Hi, As I got information from this forum,
I mentioned my invitation letter as she is getting vacation for diwali and new year, also right after that its her birthday so she want to celebrate this together after our wedding as it is first.
also she works full time there since last 5 years i submit last 6 months of pay stubs, income tax return of her for last 3 years and job leave letter from work.
from my side, last 3 months pay stubs and last 3 years income tax return.

your COPR/Immigrant Visa states expiry of your one time entry immigrant visa.

if you have not received COPR yet and want to have general idea, then the maximum length of your immigrant Visa will be from date of issue of visa to the date of your medical expiry(1 year after CIC receive your medical), as you need to land in Canada before expiry of your medical results

Thanks

This is just to remind them about their promise on granting "Immediate residency for all the spouses who are immigrating to Canada"

People who already have got Visa/PPR/landed may also take part in the survey. More the number of votes then more the chance that we will be heard....
