Hi,
I have a question.
I am Canadian PR and going to sponsor my girlfriend (she is working in PSU in india).
I am going to marry her in next month but i want to prepare some documents (such as Medical exam and PCC) well in advance.

I have following questions :

1 - Can she apply for medical exam for PR before marriage ?
or we have to get married first and then apply for Medical Exam ?

2 - Can she apply for Police clearance certificate ? Will it make any difference to apply after marriage ?
or is it ok if she apply for her PCC before marriage.

3 - She is a PSU employee. So is it required for her to get NOC first from her employer ?

I think if she has her medical and PCC ready before we apply for PR it will save a lot of time

Looking forward for your reply.

Yes, you should get her medical and PCC before marriage and submit both the documents along with the application.

NOC from employer doesn't make any big difference in PR but yes if she applies for TRV after marriage then it might be handy

Is there anything going to happen in this fall ...as per the immigration ministers promise. ..did you happen to see or read anything regarding the proposed changes in family sponsorship in the fall????

Rumour is , changes GOING TO HAPPEN IN FEBRUARY

Any applicant after 12th April 2016 (application received on 12th April 2016) tried to link application on MyCIC?
I am not able to link it, shows "no application found", but I know there is an application as I can see in ECAS, using both UCIs.

Am I doing something wrong?

2 - Can she apply for Police clearance certificate ? Will it make any difference to apply after marriage ?
or is it ok if she apply for her PCC before marriage. - No difference imo. Experts can correct me if wrong.

3 - She is a PSU employee. So is it required for her to get NOC first from her employer ? - No, not required.

Make sure you collect tons of evidence from marriage, various gifts, events etc. e.g. gift receipts, ceremony events pics, ritual pics etc, ur travel tickets to home, etc...

Also one thing i would like to suggest here is to get her to apply visitor visa before marriage, if she wants to visit you before she gets the PR. She can give any reason other than meeting you while applying for visa (as saying she is visiting her fiance who is a PR might be risky, though some people have got it saying so). Applying for TRV is very risky and in most of the cases leads to rejection. Though many people have got it as well if you provide enough documentation and if u r lucky enough. But why take chances, I would suggest anyone to apply for visitor visa before marriage. My friends have generally given a letter from their friends who are married with children. They show that this family is her relative and she is going to visit them and to visit canada. Hope this helps.

Well, apparently that is only applicable for Economic Immigrants :(
