The sponsor cant go outside canada when applying in land thats it

I back your comment. People say going out a week or two is fine, but as a PR never take a risk. Stay in Canada.
I saw somebody posted in 2014 thread where her application was refused because she started living with her husband in India.

I guess, it depends on the sponser's status.
If the Sponser is :
PR then 1 or 2 weeks should be fine.
Citizen - It doesn't matter.

My friend just reapplied as he left canada when pr in process

Below is the extract from CIC site :

If I live outside Canada, may I sponsor?

If you are a Canadian citizen, you may sponsor a spouse, a common-law partner or conjugal partner, or a dependent child who has no children of his or her own. However, you must demonstrate that you will live in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident.

Note: Permanent residents residing abroad may not sponsor from outside of Canada. Canadian citizens travelling as tourists are not considered to be residing abroad.

The question here is if the "travelling as tourists" part applies for PR as well. If it applies, then visiting India for upto 3 weeks should be fine. Though we need to make sure that we have solid proof to back that up (like approval of leave of absence from the employer and continuation of job or work after returning to Canada).

I still suggest do not put it on luck. You never know what your case officer thinks. So better play safe no chances

Hi All,

If your file already in CHC New Delhi, and been there for 2 months, in short, if you've received your file no#.
You can apply for GCMS notes, as it is GCMS notes going to come after 30 days, and notes are fresh.

Not sure what's happening @ NDVO.

Seems Till March 1st week applications got PPR by May end.

After that nothing seems to be moving.

Assumingly NDVO was first time super fast in processing applications in Jan-May

they raised our expectations and went to silent mode :(

hello guys,

well i have applied for my husband first time in 2014 march and got my interview call in october 2015. Case was rejected as I am a PR and was residing in India after application. they made notes in gcms notes that marriage genuinity proved and reason for refusal is as spouse is not resding in canada.

I then moved back to canada and again reapplied on march 3rd,2016. I got the AOR1 and sponsor eligibilty letter and my file has been transferred to delhi office.

in ecas it is showing

How long you had been residing in India at the time of your interview ?

Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on March 3, 2016.
We started processing your application on May 9, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

It has been 2 months till this update. Can you tell me how much time will it take more as marriage genuinity is proved and i am staying in canada now only.

also what do we mean by OVS sub category in gcms notes.

Thanks
