So we hand delivered passport to VFS Delhi on 23 Dec. Still waiting for the word that it's been dispatched. Hubby won't take my advice and book the flight anyway (I even found Air Canada flight using economy flex which allows FREE rescheduling) however if he waits any longer, he won't get a flight next week at the last minute. EVERY flight through Toronto is booked solid, and only one day out of the week has the AC861 London to Halifax with any seats left. That means if he waits it will be not until the following week and that puts us at only about 40 days before we have to go back to India. That means it's unlikely he will get his PR card in time. Its frustrating when your husband won't take your advice! I found the 11th available for a good price, only 21 hour travel time delhi to halifax, and only one stop in London Heathrow and it has FREE changes on date if for some reason he didn't get the passport back in time. But at least if he DID get it back this week or even the 9th or 10th he could still fly out on the 11th. If he waits till then that flight will also be filled as AC861 only flies once a day. It's even filled every day the following week except Wednesday so the next opportunity to come straight to Halifax vice Toronto, is the 18th. Why do men never listen to their wives???
