For this you should have to link your application thru gc key or mycic account then only you will know it.

At mycic when i tried to link my application then it says "DISASSOCIATIVE REPRESENTATIVE" and asks if i want to cancel it. But i dont want to cancel it

So can i still link my application?

No you can't link yoyr application if you hav a representative.

where does the applicant live, they also send an inquiry to the local/concerning police station. So if you live in a remote area, it may take a while for the inquiry to come back to CIC.

My wife live in Tamil Nadu ,Devakottai, do I have to contact local police for that??.

From what I have read, it says inquiry may comes to the local police station, but I am not sure how this background check is works specifically. A few years ago, when my friend was sponsoring his wife, someone from the police station actually called his wife and came to the house to verify her identity. I am not sure if it's a standard practice or is done case by case basis.
