- I don't think you can have separate my cic account for sponsor- wait for someone else's response as well

- on ecas check the status using sponsor's credentials like sponsor's name, UCI , dob etc, you will be able to see sponsor's file status as well as PA's file status

This this correct. You can see both sides of the sponsorship of the CIC website, using your UCI number, D.O.B and place of birth

Its a Canadian Government office where duties are fulfilled by officers living in India

You can hear back as quickly as a week to ten days with the online application. Another two weeks for Passport stamp, depending on where you live and how you deliver the passport, but once you get approved does it really matter how long the whole process takes.
