I understand this might be not the right thread to post my question but since many of you in this thread have applied and tried for visitor visa for spouse while PR is in process I thought of posting this in this thread so that if anyone has been in this situation would be able to help me out.

My wife has got 1 year multiple entry visa and it is valid till October 2016. She came to Canada in Oct 2015. Her PR is in process and we are expecting it to come as per the current processing times around June 2016 (Applied on July 15, 2015). After she came here, we also travelled to USA. She got her re-entry stamp to Canada in Jan 2016. I have following question:

As per the 6 month validity period, her visa status expires in April 2016 Sad Sad but since she got stamping on her passport again in Jan 2016 because of USA travel does that mean she has time till July 2016? Huh

My knowledge based on my resources was that once you enter Canada as a visitor your status is valid for 6 months (180 days) if at the port of entry the officer does not specify how much time the visa is valid for but if you get re-stamping due to overseas travel, you are re-entering Canada which means you are allowed to live for 6 consecutive months again from the effective new date of stamping on the passport. Is this correct? If this is true, then she still has time till July 2016 before applying for extension and hopefully we expect that she gets PR by then and we can avoid re-application for visitor visa. Smiley Smiley

If this is not true, then technically my wife's status expires very soon in April and I need to apply for extension as soon as possible. Normally, they say 30 days before the expiration, I don't even have 30 days. I am pretty tensed and I don't want to have any effect on her PR application because of this. If I apply late for the extension I mean still within 30 days period and not 30 days before is that still OK? Please confirm.

If anybody has already been in this situation please feel free to share suggestions/comments. Please help me out.

Ur visa will be valid till July, count 6 months from last entry

March 2015 Applications

Looks like there are many people who applied in March 2015 and are sill waiting.
I applied on March 20 and my status is still in Process.
Medical expired in December 2015 and still don't have a remedical yet.
I saw people who applied in April or even May 2015 who are already in Canada.
Don't know how these people work and how much verification they need to do on one person.
Lot's of people in the same boat.
I have done a MP inquiry and ordered notes to see why they have not responded yet but I am not stressing over it as life is busy here in Canada and time is just flying by. ;)
I think the 25000 Syrian refugees slowed things down but it's ok, they needed it more than us.
 
hello everyone...m april 17 '15 applicant...m done with remedical on 4 march '16 which was requested on 29 feb'16...

..still waiting for ppr...its 3 april now
can anyone tell if it is thing to worry or not that NDVO dint reply yet
how much time i have to wait more???

from here i come to know mostly pp request had come on 14 march'16...after taht i dont guess any pp request come....please god shower your blessing on us to ASAP ;D

Within what time we get passport request...
 
Guys...can anyone tell me whats the process of doing MP inquiry? I found out who my local MP is and got his offices phone number.

Do I just call and say I want to do an inquiry regarding my spouses sponsorship application? Do I need to take any documents with me to his office?

Guys i need help.I want to do mp enquiry.How it is done? We are supposed to send email to our mp? Or will have to personally meet him/her? Whose uci is to be mentioned the principal applicant or the person sponsporing? Please help me in this.I am very stressed :(
