^^ Maybe, they would accept email only from your wife as she is the Principal Applicant?

Hi, I think you are talking about GMSC notes?

and I am talking about new born information update to PR application ( I don't need to add baby as dependent as I am citizen). I selected myself as sponsor while sending documents via case specific enquiry and I don't think for this I need to be a representative as I am the sponsor.

IMM0008 is a principal applicant form...so i think it has to be sent by your spouse. since you already got the remed maybe you can wait for the ppr which says to add/inform additional members?? or your spouse can inform them sooner the better.

Will call CIC tomorrow as I received the mail after 4 pm. Will update forum too whatever CIC will tell me.

I downloaded the PR datadump for 2010 - 2015 found at http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3
When filtered for "Federal" destinations, "New Delhi", "2015" and then checked "Family Class" it emerged that "80% of the cases were completed within 20 months or less".

Sh1t !!! So average timeline is NOT 17 months but 20 months for NDVO. Not cool....

This rule is universal through out Canada and through out all sectors. For example, her doctor will not give her medical information to you unless you have consent for. Or you can not modify or add any treatment to her treatment plan without her concern.

When a representative, like a lawyer, is dealing for your case then they will take a consent from you at the begining, you sign for it. And he is legally entitled for future communication.
In this case they do not see you as your wife's representative or have consent from her.

Yes you do not have to be a representative, but you need a consent the same way you get for GCMS.

I hope it helps. Well, it is a good idea to call them and confirm.
Because they are the only one , who can give to the point, correct information.

I sent my baby's birth certificate, hospital IDs and IMM 0008 form (additional family information) for my wife via case specific enquiry to CIC (here in Canada) 10 days back and today got a strange reply from CIC "

Dear XXXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We have verified the file of <My Wife> and there is no information stating that you are their representative.

Due to the Privacy Act, we cannot take action on your request since this file contains personal information about another person. The Privacy Act makes sure that a person’s identity and personal information are protected.

In order to respond to your inquiry, <My Wife> must either write to us directly or provide written consent to IRCC by completing the Use of a Representative form and submitting it via the IRCC Web form available on our website. You may also contact the appropriate governing body to verify that you are a member in good standing.

If you already provided a Use of a Representative form, please resend the form and make sure to fill out all sections of the form correctly.

For more information on using a lawyer or other representative, or on how to become a representative, please visit our website.

Sincerely,

Any suggestion?

In this case since the file is in New Delhi and you are updating your wife's file information (only she can send a case specific inquiry OR you can send a case specific inquiry with a signed consent form).

For example, if you wanted to send NDVO new proof of your relationship or any new documents then you won't be able to without a consent form. Only your wife (PA) has the permission to update her file at NDVO.

In 2015 for NDVO
20% of cases took 9 months
50% of cases took 14 months
80% of cases took 20 months

How I interpret this is that for the cases that were completed in 2015 were in process for all these months. So the could have initiated in 2013 or 2014 and got resolved in 2015.

Which means that cases initiated in 2015 and 2016 would take around of 10 - 15 months to be completed if it is a straightforward case. And more time for others. Sh1t !!!

Additionally, application times for SPONSOR is now at just 36 days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp
But the overall time for PR is still standing at 17 months.

So it is still a loooooooooooooong wait at the respective countries for processing. This is mega bu11sh1t !!!

3. Self-employed. since this is the status at the time of sending in the application. Need to show substantial financial amounts to show you can qualify as Sponsor
