Hi Roseakhil,

Do you already have a TRV or intend to get one before marriage ? Or are you planning on getting a TRV then coming here and then applying for Inland/Outland?

Because, You can only apply for Inland if you are living in Canada with your spouse. And then I would think a consultant in Canada would be more beneficial than one in Bangalore. Also by the Inland route - the spouse does get a OWP but only after the Stage 1 is passed (used to take 8-9 months in 2015 - not sure how long it is now) whereas the Outland route - you are more likely to get your PR faster. This is just my opinion

However, you can also check out the following links which were useful to be before and while I was preparing for my spouse's sponsorship documents. I did not go via any consultant and did our paperwork by myself with the help of this wonderful forum

Thank you for all the information. I plan to take a Visit Visa before marriage and then go to Canada to apply as Inland. I was not aware that OWP comes after 8-9 months. I have been following the forums and google spreadsheet , where people have mentioned of receiving OWP in 2-3 months from date of application. So we thought of going through Inland



Can you please tell me the average time taken as Outland Processing. On CIC's website it is mentioned 17 months. So is this on the higher side or actually it takes that long?

I am going to take help of those two forums whose links you shared.

My wife got a medical request today at 5:55 AM EST.
However the email was sent to my (sponsor's) email address.
They asked for chest X-ray.

Its quite possible that some people havent updated in the forum and others might not be straight forward cases. was going through 2014 spreadsheet, majority cases have got visa............
