I am not sure how long it took for back ground check. But my background check was completed before my re-medical.
June 23, 2016 they sent us a re-medical email, but it was sent to an incorrect email address. We found out about it from our MP on August 10, 2016. On August 10, 2016 the MP also informed us that the back ground check was complete and they are waiting for the re-medical results. MP contacted IRCC and informed them to resend the re-medical email and we got a new email on August 16, 2016. Based on the time we lost from June 23, 2016 till August 10, 2016, I am assuming that it took them somewhere around one month to complete our back ground check while they were waiting for our re-medical results.

Its already been a month since my cic account shows BACKGROUND CHECK IN PROCESS .
I don't know how long they take to complete it .. I've seen in 2016 spreadsheet there they only take 4/7 days to complete background but why this much long for 2015 applicants.. Soo frustrating

Try contacting your MP. They might be able to help. They were a great help in our case.

We did MP enquiry last month when they told us your eligibilty is in process after Some days of mp enquiry they started background .
Soo would it be ok to do MP enquiry again??

It is very unlikely that NDVO started BGC before deciding eligibility .

Hallo People, I did not post a lot here, but I got good news to share, My wife finally got her visa today, it took us exactly 1 year. My file was accepted on 9 sep 2015 and we got decision made on 9 sep 2016. I recently ordered GCMS notes as well before we got decision made, I didn't send whole lot of pictures of ceremonies but what I sent was screenshots of Facebook pic ( on which over 200 people liked and comment) and in notes they took it a genuine proof. My gentle wishes for all , who are desperately waiting, should get their papers soon. One ques I have, can any one tell me what all my wife can bring first time ( in terms of jeweller or money ), does she has to pay duty on it, some one told me first it's duty free?

Hello everyone,
I got an update on my GCKEY account that "you interview has been cancelled at this time" but it was "interview not needed at this time" when I first signed up. Is it mean that NDVO never wanted us to be interviewed or they sent us a interview letter that we missed it or never got it? Any suggestions. Thanks
