we have received your application....

If you just got IP today, then just wait. It'll be at least 2 to 4 weeks before you see or hear anything. You might get a re-medical request soon...we didn't get anything, but we got a call from NDVO in the middle of the night, 5 weeks after IP. Nothing since.

These are the four lines you will see over the course of the next few weeks:

We received your application for permanent residence on <Application date>.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on <AOR date>.
We started processing your application on <AOR date?>.
Medical results have been received.

hi guys, my wife's file also got in process, but strange thing is they wrote "we started processing your application on 13aug 2014". but this was the date when file was received at new delhi. i think this is only the tactic to make process 17 months from the date file received at new delhi.

if your ECAS states we started processing your file on so and so date and if that date is exactly same as to the date NDVO received your file that means you have a interview recommended

this is same with FIZA ME and YOURSELF

GOOD LUCK

It would have come from a Canadian number, area code 613 (Ottawa). The lady said she was calling from New Delhi though, and by her accent, we could tell she was Indian. If you did indeed get a call from CIC, pray that they call again.

ALWAYS have your phones close by; if they call, it will most likely be in the middle of the night. Turn the ringer way up high. Plug in your phone on your nightstand, don't shut it off at night.

Have you ordered your notes? You should definitely be making some noise with your MP. Its still "within the processing time", but still, thats just nuts.

Is it you thats in India, or your spouse? You may want to consider applying for a TRV. Order your notes, and if the interview is waived, apply for a TRV. You have nothing to lose, really. If you get it, come to Canada, then when you finally get PPR, send the passport to Ottawa, and do your PR entry at the US border.

My spouse is in India. I have applied for notes. Just applied last week, so will wait till I get them back. Also, spoke to the MP, about month and a half ago, and the only response I got was that it's still within processing times, so they can't give us any more information.

We will look into getting TRV. It's just that my wife doesn't work in India so it may be hard to prove that she has ties to homeland, so we were hesitant of getting rejected, but we will probably apply now anyways! Like you said, nothing to lose.

Thanks for your encouraging words!

Wait for your notes, and verify that your interview has been waived. If so, check out this thread for tips on applying for a TRV: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/visitor-visa-grantedwife-of-pr-t273759.0.html

The OP has written a great guide, and I wrote some tips on Page 17: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/visitor-visa-grantedwife-of-pr-t273759.0.html;msg4688397#msg4688397

If she has travel history, then there is a chance that you will get it. If she doesn't have any, then the odds are really stacked against you, but try anyway, you never know. But if they have put you in the interview queue, just wait it out in India, there is no point.
