Since my wife's PR is taking longer than expected I am planning to get my wife admitted to some college and apply for student visa. What to you guys thing odds of getting student visa v/s visitor visa when PR(spousal sponsorship) in under process.

Hey nothing offensive but i think you should wait for a while now because NDVO has improved its speed and in my opinion going for student visa and that too when visitor visa is already under process may leave them to a doubt that he is so desperate something may be fishy. so, i would suggest that wait for the visitor visa and you may apply for it again as it is your right but should not complicate your process .. Please excuse me if iam wrong and seniors can surely advise you better

To make it clear I haven't applied for visitor visa nor intent to.
My wife always wanted to do higher studies in Canada. Even if she gets PR she will study in some college in Canada.
It sounds desperate if I apply for visitor visa as soon as I apply for PR. But in my case we have already waited to 10 months and there is no indication on how long its going to take. Though it sounds like many people are going to InProcess, it might be technical computer gimmick. The no of people getting PPR request & DM is still very low. Once I see large no of people with DM & PPR only then I will believe about NDVO speed.

Oh thats fine if u have not applied for visitor visa , i said what i felt .. Its your decision at the end .

My spouse also applied for student visa. They refused it...you have to provide enough roots that your spouse will return after studies especially when they know that u r alrdy sponsoring ur spouse. Make sure to get admission in the same field of ur spouses studies....on the other hand if ur intention is to just bring ur spouse to be with u the u shud apply for TRV like most ppl here.
