i am a canadian citizen. and i sponsered my wife in 2014. and we still havent got any responce. they recieved our application on may 2nd 2014. please help

hey everyone, long time since i came on here.
anyone from January 2014 still stuck on "In Process" ?

We got ADR in March 2015, submitted the docs in May but haven't heard back anything.
Sent them a message thru Case Specific Enquiry in May and got a reply on 29th June saying they have NOT received the additional docs, even though the courier company says the docs were delivered to them in early May. Ughh!!

Have requested another MP enquiry, waiting to hear back, and thinking of ordering another set of GCMS Notes but they take a month to arrive so was wondering if the info in there will be recent at all :\

1. If i apply for a Visit visa, are there any chances of rejection since my PR is in process? If yes, how can I avoid rejection?
As you see, I applied last April for PR, and applied for TRV this May, in 8 days I got my passport back.
In my application for TRV, I did mention my PR application details too. Kindly refrain from hiding details.
The VISA that was granted has my PR application number on it clearly.

2. Will a rejection for visit visa affect my PR in any way?
Absolutely None.

3. Apart from visit visa is there any other visa that i can apply for? Like work permit or anything?
Am not aware of procedures for any other VISA. Sorry.

4. What did you mention in your visit visa and how long did you get it for?
I got a 10 year multiple entry visa.
I assured them that I shall not overstay or break rules that shall jeopardise the processing of my PR Application.


5. I have read that the immigration officer decides the duration of the stay in canada, in that case how can I plan to book my return tickets?
Booking your return ticket is a MUST. Kindly do not book tickets before the TRV is granted.
I booked my tickets 3 days after I got the TRV and left India after 20 days of getting the TRV.
At the immigration, I was asked if I have a return ticket, I did show them the ticket.

Is there a possibility where if i book my return tickets for 3 months after I visit Canada and the immigration officer gives me the visa only for 1 month?
Although I have a 10 year VISA, as a visitor am permitted to stay for 6 months at a stretch. After which, I can request for an extension, the officer may extend or refuse to extend my stay. When am refused an extension, I have to return within the 6 month completion.

I am Dec 31st, 2014 applicant. My ecas status was AR/MR till yesterday. Today it got changed to " In Process". I was pretty happy to see some progress in my status. But as couple of you mentioned there is no third line in my description. Its still has only two lines. Does that mean they have picked up my file or does that mean as per the new process they are just updating all the status to "in Process"?

What is the third line that the "in process" people generally have?

Is anyone else also in the same situation?

I have the same doubt, even i am looking out for more information on work permit. If I can apply for one through my company while my PR is in process or no. Let me know if you find any information on this.

Meanwhile, I read about open work permit in the cic website and thought it applies for outland applications as well and I applied for an open work permit. but it got rejected. it turns out that the open work permit option while your PR is in process is applicable only for inland applicants. I read in one of the sites that outland applicants can apply for work permit but not open work permit. Even I am searching for more information on this.

Yes, you can apply for tourist visa. It will have no bearing on your PR application.

I had to do a full medical again- Lab tests and chest Xray.
