Hi rambopg,

I am a dec 31st applicant. My ecas status is AR/MR since march. Is it early for me to apply for GSCMS notes? Is there any minimum time frame that i have to wait to order the notes? And does ordering the notes have any effect on my PR application?

Yes, it is too early to apply notes. I am a October applicant and my GSCMS notes doesn't have any valuable information besides medical received and police certification received. My ECAS has been AR since October 28th, 2014. As of right now judging from the spreadsheet Aug/Sept/Oct are getting updates. I recommend just to wait it out for another 3-4 months before applying for notes. Don't worry New Delhi is keeping up with their pace.

- When you filed for your spouse's PR in India, you would've mentioned about her previously applied and granted Canadian Tourist Visa, right?
Yes, I mentioned about her visitor visa.
- Can you kindly describe the experience at the immigration at the airport in Canada. What all Qs was your spouse asked? Any documents asked? The PR has a separate Que at immigration while your spouse will be in the separate que, hence just wanting to know the scenario and experience.
1. We both went together to the immigration officer.
Questions:
1. Purpose of your visit and when you will be travelling back.
Ans: Just say, that you are here to be with husband and your PR application is still in process.
Make sure to let the officer know that you have your travel insurance and return tickets.
2. They ask about what you were doing in India before marriage? /Working/student/

Thanks. As far as I know, there is a separate immigration que for PR and citizens and a separate one for tourist. So in which Que did you'll both go together?

Also, what was the duration she said she will stay for?

Guess from now on especially for new applicants they are gonna follow these steps https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/redir.do?redir=app_perm_fam&lang=en&app=

I think there (in the above CIC document) was another point "Application Received" just above "In Process" . And CIC recently removed "AR" meaning all new applications will directly enter into In Process phase at the VO.

Found in some other thread that in NEW PR processing procedure, when files are received at local VO, applications are checked only for required documents and COPR photos of correct specifications and updated with an ecas status "in-process" and and IP date. Then after few months they do other checks like Eligibility, interview required or not, Security and Criminality.

Could be new way of processing PR applications.

Hi,

I am Dec 31st, 2014 applicant. My PR status is still AR/MR and my husband is a canadian citizen. You mentioned you are in Canada right now on a TRV. Even i want to apply for a visit visa so that i can visit my husband for sometime. I am currently working in India. I have the below questions, could you please help me with them?

1. If i apply for a Visit visa, are there any chances of rejection since my PR is in process? If yes, how can I avoid rejection?

2. Will a rejection for visit visa affect my PR in any way?
3. Apart from visit visa is there any other visa that i can apply for? Like work permit or anything?
4. What did you mention in your visit visa and how long did you get it for?
5. I have read that the immigration officer decides the duration of the stay in canada, in that case how can I plan to book my return tickets? Is there a possibility where if i book my return tickets for 3 months after I visit Canada and the immigration officer gives me the visa only for 1 month?

As you see, I applied last April for PR, and applied for TRV this May, in 8 days I got my passport back.
In my application for TRV, I did mention my PR application details too. Kindly refrain from hiding details.
The VISA that was granted has my PR application number on it clearly.

Absolutely None.

3. Apart from visit visa is there any other visa that i can apply for? Like work permit or anything?
Am not aware of procedures for any other VISA. Sorry.

I got a 10 year multiple entry visa.
I assured them that I shall not overstay or break rules that shall jeopardise the processing of my PR Application.


5. I have read that the immigration officer decides the duration of the stay in canada, in that case how can I plan to book my return tickets?
Booking your return ticket is a MUST. Kindly do not book tickets before the TRV is granted.
I booked my tickets 3 days after I got the TRV and left India after 20 days of getting the TRV.
At the immigration, I was asked if I have a return ticket, I did show them the ticket.

Is there a possibility where if i book my return tickets for 3 months after I visit Canada and the immigration officer gives me the visa only for 1 month?
Although I have a 10 year VISA, as a visitor am permitted to stay for 6 months at a stretch. After which, I can request for an extension, the officer may extend or refuse to extend my stay. When am refused an extension, I have to return within the 6 month completion.

Just have patience. Majority of Nov. applicants haven't gotten In-Process yet. Just keep an eye on the 2014 Spreadsheet and you will see a lot of Oct./Nov. applicants are only AR/MR.
