In my case, I`ll apply for the tourist visa before marriage, and that time I will have to state the purpose of my visit as a solo `vacation` as at that point in time I am neither married nor has my PR been filed.

So when at immigration I say as what you suggested, wouldn`t it conflict the purpose I wrote while applying for tourist visa. I don`t want them to think that we are trying to play around with the system, you see!

I hope you get my dilemma...

I presumed you are taking the post application route; I am unclear and may be someone else can chime in because many applicants have for the visa then got married.

One thing I can agree with the response from Immigration minister's office.
Limited budget and probably more applications being submitted than ever before.

They are not going to increase the immigration budget especially seeing the downturn in the economy. Which means they can't hire more staff and process faster.

It shouldn't be a problem at the immigration.
I would suggest to be honest to the immigration officer and when asked, let them know that you are here to visit your husband and your PR application is in process.
Immigration officer will not even ask about what you stated while applying visitor visa.

My spouse applied and granted visitor visa on Apr-2014
We got married on Oct-2014
After marriage, my spouse and myself traveled together to Canada in Nov 2014. And, there were no issues at the immigration.

Hi Ella Hibibi,

There's a delay for August / July Applicants because due to the Earthquake in Nepal and I believe there are some outdated forms another member was stating awhile ago that CIC has contacted with him. The Earthquake in Nepal has caused Citizenship and Immigration Canada to quickly finish applications from Nepal causing a delay for the rest of us. I am also a Afghanistan Applicant and I'm still waiting for a reply from them. Inshallah, we will hear something soon in a couple of months from now.

Hi...do you have decision made in sponsor column ?

For pr ie for your spouse it must say application received / medicals received ie basic they update for almost every application .

and yes that's normal for ndvo to do this ..but do apply for notes if your file is not in process . as it takes a month for them to reply on that from CIC.

Few Qs -
- What was the reason of travel that your spouse mentioned while applying for Tourist Visa?
- When you filed for your spouse's PR in India, you would've mentioned about her previously applied and granted Canadian Tourist Visa, right?
- Can you kindly describe the experience at the immigration at the airport in Canada. What all Qs was your spouse asked? Any documents asked? The PR has a separate Que at immigration while your spouse will be in the separate que, hence just wanting to know the scenario and experience.

Apologies for being so verbose and inquisitive, just want to be utmost sure of everything before taking the leap.

My hubby got his passport back today!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D!........I hope you all get over this soon as well and try your best not to stress over this. I know its easier said then done it does seem like an endless wait but it will all be over soon and you will be with your loved ones forever and ever.

I have a silly question... i wanted to know how does CIC Mississauga transfers the file to the Visa office..
Do they just send the electronic version of the file and then the Visa office works on that instead of the actual paper file we applied??

Is it neccessary that they will put second marriage cases in interview for sure ?

Most probably.
NDVO is taking Interviews for genuine / first marriage cases.
For second marriage ... NDVO most probably Interview comes.

NDVO is taking Interviews for genuine / first marriage cases.
For second marriage ... NDVO most probably Interview comes.

My husband is divorced..!! Mine is first marriage..!! I m principal applicant. Hope we will not get interview.,
